I am sorry. Who would have thought that there would be several Deng Deng's.

There are considerably more Ding Dong's than there are Deng Deng's... ;)

Agree. Glad he is still out there for the taking.

OK, well, now from the link Kamdy posted, Rivals lists him as having HIGH interest in LSU and only MEDIUM interest in everyone else including us. Is that current?

He originally was an LSU commit and signee

Rosenthal said in his chat yesterday that he expects Deng to visit this month. There doesn't seem to much talk or urgency with the staff or Deng so would he be a silent commit? Rosenthal also stated that he has not talked to Deng personally.

FWIW I almost made the same mistake.

For a second I thought we had more of an in with him due to the LBSU coach being Dan Monson until I realized it was a different guy.

I'd hate to lose D^2 to LSU.  Is Baylor still after him?

I think he parted ways with LSU. I don't think they are in contention any more.

I think Baylor and Nebraska are the top choices, but my guess is that neither school are in a hurry to sign Deng Deng given his ankle injury and possibly needing to redshirt.

I believe that Deng Deng has a couple smaller schools as backup options if Baylor and Nebraska decide to pass on him.

I could be wrong, but that's how it looks to me. I'm guessing Deng Deng has a doctors visit scheduled soon that will tell him if he is likely to be able to play this season or not.

He committed to LSU out of HS, didn't ever make it there and went the JUCO route. He isn't even considering LSU this time around.

Just based off of game video and statistics, I think the kid is a player. Definitely has B1G athletiscm. Has a lot or versatility to his game offensively and with his length and athletiscm he can help you many ways defensively. He ran a lot of point guard for his junior college team on offense and player the middle of their 2-3 on defense. He was a rebounding machine and shot 38% from 3. Obviously things would be much more difficult in our league but I like his makeup, I like how he just took games over (39 points 24 boards, 34 points 26 boards).... Ankle injury sucks but his skill set and versatility is something that I think could fit in nicely here.

0 favorites and 0 retweets...I guess no one from Baylor is paying attention

It looks like there were 30 retweets and 36 favorites from that twitter post.

NOW there are.  When I posted that it was 0 and 0 11 hours after he tweeted.

Chris Harriman has a close enough relationship with Deng that if we still really want him, he wouldn't commit anywhere without first visiting Nebraska. Remember, Nebraska was supposed to be his first visit before he broke his leg and Harriman is currently in Australia.
