Would you like to see the basketball team come out with some sort of black alternate road uni?  I remember the blacks that the team broke out a few times under Nee and really liked them.

Yeah, the players love the alternate uniforms...

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Or let's do a gray alternate with black numbers.

I like this idea.
You would have to do black lettering/numbers on the gray to differentiate from Ohio state uniforms. But black lettering and numbers would look way better. Could have a touch of red on there somewhere. Maybe outline the black letters and numbers with a thin red striping.

Did you change your mind since January?

Nope, but I've given up fighting.

Hate using black personally, but I'm not anywhere near the decision-making chain, so I figure there's no point getting worked up in a lather about it.

You nailed it 49r.  Personally I think all this "alternative uniform" stuff is complete garbage - have a uniform design for the school in the school colors and let that be it in my book.  I really can't understand anyone wanting uniforms in colors that don't represent the school.  I think it all just plays into the mentality that how you look is somehow more important than how you play (although IMO the alternative uniforms we had last year looked absolutely terrible as well).

That said - consistent with my philosophy that uniforms really don't matter - it is how you play that matters - I have no energy to fight this battle. Let the d-bags and gangsta wannabe's get themselves off on uniform styles if that is their thing.

So when teams wear jerseys with the flag for logos for Memorial Day to represent those that have fallen for our country, military colors to represent those that protect us, or pink for breast cancer or another color to represent another cause do you think they are being douchebags to show support?

To each their own.

I'll tell you what a d-bag is.  Someone who asks the board if they have any Husker games from the 90's on VHS (most of which were the best games from that time period), borrows them, and never returns them.  Being reminded that he still had them and then promising he would transfer them to DVD and not doing that either.  Yep, that is my definition of d-bag.

I have a ton of VHS tapes from all of those games too. Sometimes it kills me to see them sitting in a box and knowing I don't even have a working VCR anymore! Have you checked out Husker Historian on YouTube yet?

Watched some football games posted by HH.

Hugh I would not call that person a d-bag at all - maybe an a$$hole, a d!ck or in mixed company a jerk.  (You have a PM by the way :) )

Maybe it is just me - but I thought d-bag had kind of become a common reference for those who tend to place appearance over substance.  I guess maybe I get that from conversations on boards about Vegas where it is used as a generic term for those who spend tons of money going to clubs and buying bottle service just so they can be "seen" in the "in" place or to be able to tell people they were at the "hot" club.  Obviously I did not intend the term as a complement - but in other places I have actually seen the term used very often for that purpose and at least in a few cases embraced by people who to some extent admit falling within that described class.  In any event was intended as a specific descriptive reference - not as a general insult. (and it was intended to be used "tongue in cheek" - maybe not a good joke but was not really trying to make anyone mad).    Sorry if I went overboard with the term and offended anyone.
