Huskerpapa Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 I am not a big fan of picking up another "junior" next year. It would be good if we could start balancing our classes. Next year we will have two, possibly three seniors (Evan, Nick & Anton). Next years Junior class will have MJ, Jack, Ed, JP and Glynn. The sophomores will be Isaiah, Jeriah and Jordy. We currently have one incoming freshman. If you add another junior, that would place six players in the junior class. Seems too heavy. Quote

A former five-star recruit out of high school, Copeland would have two years of eligibility remaining if he receives a medical redshirt from the NCAA for this past season. A separate source told FanRag Sports that Copeland received his unconditional release from Georgetown on Thursday. If the guy is getting back surgery you probably can throw out this year's number when evaluating whether or not you'd want him here. Row6Seat10 and Swan88 2 Quote
Swan88 Posted December 30, 2016 Report Posted December 30, 2016 Good stuff here. It's probably premium content, but the tweet gives a good heads up. Norm Peterson 1 Quote

Him having 2 years eligibility remaining (if that ends up the case) would make a lot of difference to me in terms of wanting to add him. How long would he have to sit to be eligible? Fall semester graduation next season? mwm89 and Row6Seat10 2 Quote
ShortDust Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 If he's given his medical hardship then he can play immediately next year, if not granted that he will be eligible in January. Quote
FredsSlacks Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 do you think copeland and ed would start inside next year? or would copeland move to small forward? Quote

Copeland played minutes with a 6-10 270# and 6-7 250# player on the court. (He is 6'9" 220), He also played a lot of minutes with the 6'10" center. Seems capable of playing as a stretch 4 or a 3. Anyone who saw him play last year would be able to clarify. Him starting or playing big minutes is a whole other ball of wax. Quote
Neebrasketball Posted December 31, 2016 Report Posted December 31, 2016 For someone who has researched and read about this transfer, what are the odds he commits here? Quote

Well, Kansas, Arizona, and Texas are all interested, among others. But, Hunter helped recruit him to Georgetown, so there's that. And then there's this: http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/high-school/preps-now-blog/article14639498.html Quote
49r Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 Anybody know if Isaac was in the house today? College Park is like a subway ride away from the Georgetown campus. Quote
royalfan Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 If he was, I don't think the uniform selection probably hurt matters. Nor did the result. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
uneblinstu Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 No inside info here, but NU doesn't usually get involved with transfers and not land 'em, it seems. Silverbacked1 1 Quote

If he visited the odds are quite good. He retweeted Anton Gill about his injury....both those guys played HS ball in Raleigh so they probably know each other. Quote
