I can't figure Penn State out. Mike Rhoades first year was pretty dang good. They were 9-11 in the league. Baldwin was an all-conference player and the conference DPOY. They replaced last year's center with a 7 footer who appears to be a slight upgrade on both ends of the floor. Kern, Hicks and Dunn are all back. Those guys are long, athletic and versatile. Hicks is one of the best three point shooters in the Big Ten. They added a solid guard transfer from Tennessee. Earlier this year I watched them manhandle Purdue. I turned the game off when they were up 65-36. If they turn you over and get out and score in transition, it can get out of hand quickly. They played well at Michigan and at Michigan State. Yet they are at the bottom of the Big Ten. Feels like a team that should be way better than their record indicates. For all these reasons, they are scary to me. Almost reminds me of Nebraska two years ago when we started 3-9 in conference, but it just seemed like we were a much better team than that. Then proceeded to win 6 of the last 8.

I don't think we can afford to get off to a slow start in this one. Will be much harder to chip away at it against a team with a high level point guard and an athletic, physical defense.

Does anyone know what Nebraska's pick and roll defense looks like?  I don't have a good site to look up such things

When Morgan is out there, it looks like overcommitting and giving the ballhandler either points or an assist 100% of the time 😂

Injuries and illness with the simplest explanation that Ace Baldwin hasn't been the same since injuring his back on Jan 8th

Just from watching live it seems more likely to be a hard hedge with Morgan and drop coverage or an Ice with Meah

Sorry, I should have worded that a lot better. I was curious what our analytics are on defending this action.

Need to get this one.  It's a big swing game.  A win keeps us in a bye for the conference tournament, puts us at .500, plus makes the Michigan home game one to likely lockup a tournament spot.  A win might also take some pressure off the remaining games where then hopefully we just play as a confident basketball team.

Wouldn’t it be neat that our last few games and Big 10 tournament games are for seating😳

Somebody on this site has to have access to Synergy. Would be a great place to start

If we win, that's 4 straight conference road wins.  By my count, that hasn't happened since..... 1975-76.
Our last year in the old coliseum.  Wins at Manhattan, Boulder, Stillwater and Ames in that order.
Correct me if that's wrong.

I feel like it can’t be very good. Rutgers and USC both strictly ran pick and rolls the last 5 minutes of those games to beat us. We really struggled to defend it against Maryland too.

I did see that it's happened 6 times since 1920 but I don't know what years.

I don't know if you can technically count carryovers from one season to the next, but if you do: 3 straight Big 12 road wins to end 1997-98 followed by 2 straight Big 12 road wins to begin the 1998-99 conference season.

I know this wasn't requested, but combing through huskers.com I noticed that the 1990-91 team actually won 6 consecutive road games to start that specific season, yet most of those occurred in the non-conference season. Check it out: https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/schedule/season/1990-91

Interestingly enough, the 1975-76 also won 6 consecutive road games, yet most of those occurred in the Big 8 conference (4).
