Didn’t we stop Queen fairly well the first time we played them with Meah playing more than he has lately?

I was thinking he did a pretty good job on him.  Could be wrong.  And yes it will hurt some without BB if he can’t go.

But next man up baby

Yes, that is correct. I seem to recall that Queen had only 3 points.

And what do you expect from some fans that continue to chant left/right and sit down while Brice is shooting ft? Situational awareness receives an "F".

This has been a pet peeve of mine ever since I was a student trying to tell the others to shut the f up.

Also we only get “really” loud when we have a chance to win a $2 chicken sandwhich…. We should be that loud for any free throw that is important in the game.

Other than my two “old man yells at cloud” thoughts, we have a pretty damn good home court advantage, and we need to keep it up

They outscored us by about twelve with the two fouls sir approach.  Fortunate not more with meah making a few ft

True. But we also allowed Gary to play the entire half without any worries of picking up additional fouls. And Rollie, and Berke, and Morgan

Can we ever get B1G refs who don't give out phantom fouls to NU's opponent? Rollie & Juwan must both be magnets for those ridiculous calls. I thought Rollie, especially, got the shaft a few times. And the time Juwan grabbed the rebound over Thornton, there's no such call as "over the back," but yet that's basically what the ref called a foul for. Sheesh.

Most fouls called are likely spot on, although as a "homer" I retain the right to bitch and moan to appease my frustration.

That said I am driven to insanity by the NEW methodology of awaiting the outcome of a shot before the whistle is blown.  The message being sent is that it is only a foul IF the shot is missed.

And then, the opposite of that is the anticipatory whistle, where the ref thinks or assumes there will be a violation, whether there is one or not.

In both cases, it is bad officiating.

...and oh yeah, did the NCAA do away with the 3 second in the lane rule?  Apparently so.  OSU lived in the lane today.  Sometimes it was to Thortons's detriment, as he couldn't drive thru his bigs.

First of all, a great win. This four game stretch has been really fun to see develop and I’m happy for the guys and for Fred. During the 6 game streak, so many were saying he wasn’t a good coach, was actually a terrible coach. So, during the win streak, people should also say he’s a really good coach.  I personally think he stayed the course and got his guys to stay the course and believe, they didn’t pack it in like some fans did.
I was surprised to see quite a few red zone seats empty - not mid court, but behind the hoop, quite a few rows were empty. Guess they were prepping for the Super Bowl.

Thursday needs to be rocking!!!

At one point in the past, we sang "Happy Trails."  Perhaps we should divert back in time?

I think that same thing everytime someone fouls out.  At times I sing it to the player.  Maybe someone can make an updated version for the youngins.

I hate that. I hate that so much. Dumbest thing ever and the fact they continue to do it is ... baffling. To put it nicely.

I think it is kind of way too old. Somethings are a schools transition but that one can go away. The player either doesn’t hear it or plays games like the kid did Sunday.
so yeah it could disappear and I wouldn’t feel bad at all

This a 1,000 times yes.  Twice yesterday the whistle was blown before anything happened.  Also my group up in the 3rd tier didn't quite get the jump ball call in front of the OSU bench, wasn't the ball still "live"

For the last couple of seasons Fred has been on the extreme for not playing guys with 2 fouls

Interesting— wonder if they are seeing something analytically that we’re not seeing?

Whatever he’s doing must be working because….. we’re having the best 2 year stretch in a very long time.

Braxton Meah currently making FTs at higher clip than Ahron Ulis 💀

Speaking of Ahron, I'm pretty sure Fred's exact instructions before inserting him into the game were: "OK. Bring the ball up, dribble around for 20 seconds, then toss up an off-balance fadeaway from 13 feet. But don't get fouled. That would be even worse."

He was the embodiment of the argument against sitting guys with 2 fouls yesterday.  Yeesh!

One thing I didn't see mentioned (and did not notice myself) was when Morgan skied for that rebound over Devin Royal and was called for a foul, Royal ended up being injured and didn't play the rest of the game.  Ohio St's lack of depth was exposed during the second half which certainly contributed towards the win
