Hear me out here, and I realize not everyone will return next year but the athleticism upgrades might already be on the bench aside from a 6’8 PF that can shoot the rock

I think rice is gna make a big jump, and ik he had some defensive lapses and he had minimal playing time but Diop had some nice moments and I would mind him getting some run. But I areee we need a big, another athletic big 6’8 to 6’10

We need a big, enforcer/rebounder presence on the inside. 2 if Blaise can’t get healed.

We need a solid, even above solid option at PG. maybe it’s Uhlis, maybe not.

My gut says CJ may be done at NU, just a gut feel, no info behind that.

If CJ moves on, arguable our top 2 3pt shooters are departing. Need to find some outside shooting.

Hopefully, we get some clarification on Blaise, Uhlis, Lloyd, and Rice. Rice just disappeared. Lloyd never played. Uhlis’s status for next year is still undetermined. Blaise never recovered from ankle surgery. Will he? Too many guys on the team who were nonexistent

This article and most research says high ankle sprains take 6-8 weeks. Much much different than regular ankle sprains. He was just ramping up to practice this week, which lines up in my opinion

You’re right! I just  did some research right after I posted. Maybe, I should do the research before I post.😎

I don’t love the quotes from our guys who are eligible to return. I wouldn’t lose any sleep if we lost CJ… in fact I think we should seek to replace him with a more well rounded player anyways. But man we really need the other three to come back.

Mast:

“I haven’t made a decision yet. Probably going to see what opportunities are out there this offseason. I’ve been around enough offseasons and been around enough teams where you never know what happens in the offseason. I’m just going to explore my opportunities, but I definitely love this place and team. I’ve met a lot of great people here, but I’m not going to say a for sure thing. I’m just going to see what’s out there and then make a decision.”

Brice:

“No, I haven’t thought about that yet. I’ve just been focusing on the Huskers.”

Gary:

“I haven’t made a decision yet. But I’m always going to be grateful to come back here and play for Coach Fred. He’s the reason I’m here; the coaching staff is the reason I’m here. Without those guys, there wouldn’t be Juwan Gary at Nebraska. So I’m grateful for the coaching staff, the players, the G.A.s, even the equipment managers. Everybody that bought into this team this year, I’m all grateful for it. Like I said, I don’t know what’s going to be my next step, but I’m always going to be grateful to come back here for sure.”

Wilcher:

“I haven’t really thought too much about that. I just want to be present with these guys and bask in the ambiance a little.”

Doesn’t every player who has eligibility left say some iteration of this?

With NIL it's probably a good decision to say you're undecided to ramp up your price. The new reality of college athletics.

Well, Frankie posted this a few moments ago. So Frankie could go to Wisconsin. They could both come to Nebraska.

Or, they could end up taking the sweater vest money and end up at Creighton. Then could start dating our volleyball players.

That’s William Kyle on the right. He would not be a fit in Wisconsin’s offense.

C.J. could do a few things, but he's cement-in-boots slow... I'd advocated for bringing in Cliff from R.U. and was resoundingly trolled for it. It was rather obvious after being in Memphis that BIG dudes that the likes of A&M and Houston both had, NU clearly doesn't. Brice is the only guy the Huskers had who could get to the cup.... it was OBVIOUS that the Huskers will need a sizeable athletic upgrade to go with elite shot-making of KT. Skill is nice, but you gotta have the Jimmys and Joes to compete in big-time basketball. I hope a good mixture of guys who can play soild D and make buckets, both qualities mastered by the same dude!!

It kinda sucked big-time, Eli Rice could have sorely helped NU when teams D'ed up C.J. hard. He would have been a nice change-of-pace.... oh well, next year. Always lookin' to next year. Cubbies fans know how that wound up in '16. There's always hope, Big Red. Keep Grindin'!!!
