Great game and great win, HOWEVER we still have a lot of work to do. This gives us our 2nd Q1 win. No real impact on our NET, although I'm not sure if that is calculated in real time or pushed out tomorrow?

The difference between this game and WI was our defense and points in the paint.

2nd half KT gets the ball and looks to shoot a somewhat contested 3, instead he dishes to SH on his right who has a wide open 3 and makes it. I can't express in words how much I like seeing that kind of unselfish play.

NET rankings not out until morning.  Use NCAA NET page and at the top it'll say something like “through 1/9/24 games”

Have no fear, this will impact our NET ranking for sure.

This will be very important for us going forward. I have concerns about how much this number is going to move in our favor this season. Road wins are going to be huge.

Thanks for the info.

Certainly not going to expect a bump into the upper 40’s like KP, but a bump into the low 50’s I would assume is on the table.  Also helps to win this one by 16 due to MOV factoring in.

Notes from UNL

  • Nebraska picked up its fourth win in program history against a No. 1 team and first since a 67-51 win at Missouri on Feb. 6, 1982. Nebraska improved to 4-13 all-time against the nation’s No. 1 team.
  • Of the four wins over No. 1 teams, two belong to the Hoiberg family as his grandfather Jerry Bush knocked off No. 1 Kansas State, 55-48, on March 3, 1958.
  • The win was the fourth ranked win for Fred Hoiberg at Nebraska and first since a win at No. 7 Creighton on Dec. 4, 2022.
  • Nebraska hit a season-high 14 3-pointers on Tuesday, topping the previous season high of 12 done three other times this season, most recently at Wisconsin last Saturday. NU is now 8-1 when hitting at least 10 3-pointers. Nebraska went 14-of-23 from beyond the arc, hitting a season-high 60.9 percent. The last time NU shot at least 60 percent from 3-point range was Feb. 27, 2022 at Penn State (13-of-20)
  • Nebraska handed Purdue its largest loss since an 82-58 loss at Michigan on Feb. 10, 2002.
  • Nebraska’s 88 points was its highest in Big Ten play since a 93-70 win at Penn State on Feb. 27, 2002. It is the most points NU has scored against Purdue since joining the Big Ten in 2011-12 (previous high 83, on Jan. 29, 2017).
  • Nebraska shot 50.9 percent, becoming the third team to shoot over 50 percent against Purdue.

NU will soon play at Iowa and at Rutgers. Those two seem to be fairly important for securing a couple of road victories after this one in Lincoln. Keep the momentum in NU's favor. Rise, rinse, and repeat. GBR

Best and most fun I’ve had at PBA since No Sit Sunday.
Wasn’t as packed but was definitely loud.
Total team win. Lots of contributions- and deep enough to overcome our starting point guard having a subpar game.

Mast was a man out there

Brice impacted in so many ways outside of scoring

Wilcher was hot and helped us keep up with their shooting

Sam was the defensive spark plug and had a heck of a game. his drive and layup was a crowd pop for sure

Allick hitting that baseline three when Purdue cut it to 1 was HUGE!!!
KT - my all time favorite. Not sure how he even gets some of his shots off but man his threes are timely.

Huge win. Awesome court storming of multi generations. Was cool to see Trev and Rhule storming the court. Eichorst would have tried to stop it.
Signature win!

On to Francon Friday

So many players contributed to this. So many! Does anyone know how to grab a shot of Mast with those wads stuck up his nose at the end of the game? Not very savvy about that but I absofreakinglutely LOVED it as symbolic of the effort of the whole team.
