Janet Nee's Elf on a Shelf?

Or maybe a copy of Shelly West's forgotten gem, "Jose Ramos was a friend of mine..."

What does the winner get?  Don't tell me it's total consciousness on my deathbed.  😉

A court side seat to Nebraska’s round of 32 game.  Expires upon death.

So then Norm never has to pay it.

Is it a Sallie jersey?

I mean, that's close enough. And I'm legit doing an exorcism on it.

To me, the Sallie situation is the quintessential Nebrasketball curse example.

Probably the most sought after, highest-rated recruit we'd had in a decade, maybe? And he's putting out on social media encouraging comments like "we're going to turn this shit around." And we're all like, yeah, finally we have a potential difference maker.

And then, all of a sudden, the NCAA decides to get tough on prep school kids with OUR guy. I mean, lowly Nebraska. Just let us have our recruit, please.

And they want more than just his test scores; they want to see copies of his homework. For real? I mean, who keeps that stuff?

But it didn't stop there. NCAA drags their feet on approval (they might have just said no, and we'd have moved on, probably), but instead they drag their feet until we're in a spot where, if we don't get him started taking classes, he won't be in school and won't be able to play.

So, we admit him. And he starts taking classes. And then the Big 12 comes in and says, guys, sorry, but if you admit someone before they're cleared for eligibility, we have this little provision under Rule 42, Section 27(q)(4)(viii) subparagraph 3(b) that says if you admit him before he's cleared for eligibility, the player is *permanently* ineligible to play for that school.

And it was like WHYYYYYY? Why couldn't you people just let us enjoy this one little victory FFS? What did we ever do to you?

And people on the board at the time will remember that this was something that really bothered me for a long time. I mean, I practically couldn't say the guy's name for a year.

And now I have something with his name on it that might have belonged to him had he ever actually been cleared to play. And I'm going to do what any sensible person would do in my situation: I'm going to perform a fricking exorcism on it. I'm going to drive out whatever demon has haunted this program for the last couple of decades.

And if we win a game in the dance in the next couple of years, the only thanks I'll ask is that you raise a glass and toast to me in your victory parties after the game.

Deal?

FU^* the big12 and Texas, the big12 will be better off with out those ARSE HOLES!!

I sat right beside Bernard Day in my Art History class when he took over the Post @ 6’ 6” & did his BEST Andre Smith imitation to lead us to the Promise Land. What IF we’d beaten Western Kentucky & Moe never turned in that Pink Slip…

We were always within striking distance, but never had the momentum to win that game.  Don't think Moe had the option to return.

Somewhat related but somewhat not, are we a tourney-caliber team by now with HCFH if we’re still in the Big 12? Considering how good the league has gotten and HCFH most likely not having to overhaul his entire coaching philosophies, I think it’s pretty evident we’d be in a better spot than we are.

It seems like playing these B1G teams with how subpar the conference does in the tourney each year is starting to lose its luster.

I mean... between Collier and Sadler, we never once had a winning conference season in the Big 12. Not saying past results are indicative to future performance, but it's not like it was a cakewalk for us in that conference.

For what it's worth, two of Nee's four seasons in the Big 12 were above 0.500. Nee's best standing in the conference was #4, Collier #6, Sadler #7.
