If we were to believe what we read on other message boards, seems there continues to be smoke regarding Isaac Traudt? They say he's homesick. His girlfriend plays volleyball at Creighton. But someone says they have firsthand info that Traudt is not a fan of McDermott.

We just saw this happen last year with Matthew Mors

In the immortal words of @49r and others: "This would not suck."

The questions I'd have with McPherson is where is he at physically after suffering two knee injuries and can he shoot?

Next year he's also going to be a 21 year old Redshirt Sophomore with 3-4 years left who's played a lot of high level high school ball and has 2 years learning our system.  Seems like his floor should be Bandoumel-type defensive disruptor

Wouldn't he be "eligible" to be a freshman if stars align?

We have a pretty good on-court recruiting pitch, as we'll be able to show on film that we're willing to run our entire offense through a forward/big.

While we're day dreaming, think how much more this would open up the offense. Walker has been very good, but limited offensively. Traudt would force defenders to guard him beyond the 3-point line and is explosive enough to put the ball on the floor and go by people. 🙃

Oh, man, don't do this to me. You're setting me up for huge disappointment because you're all right. Traudt would be amazing.

My thoughts exactly. I believe he averaged 12 ppg in Virginia's overseas trip last summer. Not bad for a true freshman. Weighed in at 229 lbs before the season. Guessing he'll be in the 235-240 range going into next season.

Starting to feel a little more confident that things are going to fall into place.

Normally at this time of year, there would be an angry mob with pitchforks lining up to demand a coach with this kind of record be fired, tarred and feathered, and run out of town on a rail.

And yet we're not doing that.

Instead, so many of us are saying things like we like what we're seeing and could see it working and give Fred another year to see what he can do.

And if we're noticing good things, we're probably not the only ones.

In fact, I'm pretty sure we're not the only ones.

I'll just leave it at that.

Wisconsin fans get their way and get rid of Gard and hire TJ away from ISU

Then Fred considers heading back to his alma mater?

Is this the kind of scenario you are talking about?

I've watched a lot of BIG basketball over the past couple years -- I have yet to see a time where Chucky has smiled or had enjoyment around his Wisconsin teammates.  Maybe this is just his stoic nature.  Did he enjoy the cold shoulder Gard gave him after he took that end of regulation 3?? Does he think Wisconsin style is fun to play?  More importantly, do you think he noticed how much NE will need a point guard next year?

Ha, you take the glass half empty side to new levels 😃😃. Not a dig, I know being a NUHoops fan is rough and we all deal in our own way.

I have some family members whose kids are now middle/high school age in the Omaha area. Rumors are floating around the Omaha schools about Chucky coming home (and not to the blue school). Sounds like other people are hearing this too? Should we get our hopes up with him and Traudt? Or should we just assume they'll be playing for Notre Dame next year?

What would we have to do in the transfer portal, in your opinion, to make it to the NCAA tournament next year? The NIT? Would the NIT suffice as progress and earn him a contract extension?

After booing his ass all game are you sure he'd even be interested in us (I fully support booing btw way, grow up who cares, it's sports and these kids are set for the rest of their life, they can handle it)?

I think there's a palpable difference in malicious booing and booing that's all in good fun. That wasn't malicious booing by any means. I'm pretty sure Chucky, as a competitor, loved it. I would have at that age. Chucky knows he's loved in Nebraska. Seems like the only people who had a problem with it are some overly soft adults.

If I were Chucky, any thought of returning home to Nebraska, specifically Lincoln, would be the last thing on my mind after last week. If he decided to transfer after this season, he would have options, and if I were him, I would rather not go to the school that booed me.

Well, good thing you're not Chucky.   It didn't bother him at all.
