Please no one laugh at this but do we really want to take 3 star players if they want to commit?  A couple of years ago i would be wetting myself at the thought of kids like this but now it seems like we have bigger fish to fry.

I agree with you.  Seems like people are getting overly worked up about a visit by three kids who've been highly ranked ... by their coach.

But from what I've heard Creighton is a national power in all things and everybody knew soooo much about it.    Including where it is at.   And I think I might start to follow this kid on tweete

Future 150 has some bias issues, methinks.  Hope you're right but I'll trust it more if I see a different recruiting service say it.

True, but I don't think the other services have 2015 rankings out yet. 

 

I think the fact that schools like Baylor, Arizona, UCLA, Alabama, Stanford, Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, etc were showing interest in him as a sophomore says more than recruiting rankings this early in the process.

Good point.  And I usually think that schools of interest are a better measure, really, than star ratings.  We'll see if these others come through with offers.  It'll be nice that we were in at the ground level if his recruitment blows up.  But it's a little premature at this point to annoint him as some high-level recruit when he really hasn't ascended that far yet.  Zylan Cheatham?  Sure.  But he has the offers to back it up.  Jojo may well get there but let's not put the cart before the horse.

The big schools have no idea what their PG status may be in 2 years.  When youre a blue blood in hoops you can come in a little later on the guys that arent the very top 4 and 5 star players.  The mid level 4 star guys you have some time when youre a UCLA, Baylor etc to make a move.  I'd be willing to bet Anderson's offer list will resemble Cheatham's a year from now.

Anybody know what happened to this kid?  He seemed like a top target of ours a few years ago and then he just disappeared.  Really glad we got Watson, obviously, just curious about this guy

Hes the next Jordan Tebbutt.  A guy that was highly ranked as a sophomore and by the time he was a senior any and all offers seemed to no longer be commitable.  I honestly cant find anything on him not even at a juco.

Posting this here because I'm not seeing the recruiting forum on my phone. Nebraska was the first school to offer Anderson. Looking at his highlights he's a stud. Sounds like he is visiting Baylor this weekend. Got to love Miles getting in on top recruits early.

 

Something about those two highlighted statements that don't seem to go together.

 

He has no other offers ... but he's a "top recruit"?

 

He seems to have good ball skills.  But I'm not as impressed with his highlight film as others seem to be.  One scouting report I read about him says he tends to over dribble.  I can see that.  They also call him a "pass first" point guard and, from the videos, that almost seems to be the description to a fault.  He seems to pass up easier opportunities to take it to the rack in order to make some circus pass.

 

The competition he was playing against didn't look very good.  And his shot, while it seemed to go in a lot in the video, isn't very pretty.  He has a low release point and it's sort of a quirky looking shot.  I suspect he'll need a lot of space to get that shot off when he's playing against college defenses.

 

He is only a sophomore, so he still has lots of time to improve.

Academic casualty?  That would certainly explain why his offers were not committable....

Where did all the hype fot this player come from? He visited both NU and CU awhile back and it was a huge deal because he was "highly rated". I could never find much film on him, nor could I find writeups about his game. Its perplexing how some of these kids are able to rev up the hype machine around themselves.
