OK, so the guy is just totally wrong. We've been through this. Volleyball clap belongs to the volleyball fans. Not original, not for us to borrow, not apropos to the nature of our event. "Who cares? You suck!" seems less sportsmanlike, more rude, and is categorically wrong when some of our conference opponents are introduced. "Husker! Power!" is not necessarily original. But it sets a tone. It says, we don't care who you are, we're not intimidated by you and this is our house and we're going to defend it. It absolutely sets a tone. I've said it before and I'll say it again: This is the best, most uniquely Husker thing we've ever done as a crowd at basketball games. We didn't steal it from Duke. We didn't copy Kansas. It's the best crowd thing we have going. And it should continue.

I've been to 4 State Fairs, 3 County Fairs and a goat roping and the Husker Power chant is the greatest thing I've ever seen. When I watched the Youtube video from the floor the first time we did the chant, I got chills.

Wonder if Tim (or Jean, for that matter) has been to a football game. Usually it times out that the opposing team runs onto the field during the Tunnel Walk (if not slightly before...when the stadium is yelling Husker Power). We're playing loud music and Husker highlights, or yelling exactly the same thing. Surely that is unsportsmanlike also? Where are the letters of outrage about that? Oh, right, you were used to finishing knitting a new pair of mittens or reading your dog-eared copy of some classic Tolstoy while you waited for a peaceful tipoff and that pesky yelling is kind of distracting.

Yeah, had to change my phone number twice. I haven't had this many people mad at me since I got kicked out of the Chinese Buffet. "you here four hour, you go now". "eat some broccori." Okay so I stole that but still one of the funniest stand up bits ever.

Channing Frye has made an awfully nice career as a 6'11" shooter. Walt needs some polish but he will be a mismatch for teams no matter what level he is playing

Winning the enchilada would be nice. I'd rather make the dance and win a game there than hope for an opportunity to play for a Big Ten title. Tomorrow is for seeding and pride. The only goal I have any concern for right now is getting into the dance and winning when we get there. I want this monkey off our backs in 2014 and not a year longer.

Playing at the Y. You know that guy who always seems to be there shooting around and playing pick up games, like they don't have a job or was somebody at one time. ...and he's still cheap shotting middle aged men.

I'm rooting for Purdue because that is an easier game to win tomorrow and I want to win the whole tournament. Also, if we can't beat Purdue we don't deserve to go to the NCAA tourney, anyway. But reasonable minds can differ on this topic. I've heard husker fans with both opinions.

Perhaps the reason their coach was dismissed is because of recruiting players like Atewe. In other words, he didn't make a bad decision; he was the bad decision. He could be poor at developing players. Atewe was a bit of a project with crazy athleticism...is it a surprise he's struggling? Maybe he transfers here.....which is why you don't burn bridges on the guys you don't land. Seems like a good time to call and see what's up.

Overall, it seemed like he enjoyed his first basketball game. Welcome to the bandwagon, Tim! How many Walter Petteway jerseys can we put you down for?

I think ever since the Biggs situation, Miles is focused on getting high-character, team-oriented guys. He's talked about guys who know their roles and go out there and just perform their roles. Smith seems like this type of kid. I think he could score a lot more if he wanted to, he has a pretty good shot and can take it strong to the hole. But it seems like St. Anthony's likes to run a patient, disciplined half-court offense. I'm not worried about his defense, look how our defense now compared to earlier in the season is like night and day - Miles will teach him how to play great D.

Everyone knows *many* Crayton fans are more than happy to be socially imbibing at the Bud Bar whilst Dougie McBuckets has been droppin' 3G in the Clink these 4 yrs! Oh well, they'll soon figure out the All-American son will be sorely missed in eastern O... and, man oh man, do I hope the Omaha Mavericks get things going at Ak-sar-ben Arena in a hurry to fill up their new venue by 2016. The state of Nebraska is seeing a basketball renaissance like none other. I, for one, think it's great for Nebrasketball for everyone within the borders to be good all at once. No, I don't think it would be awkward at all. I heard Miles on the radio recently paying Doc a nice compliment and I don't think Doc is the kind of person who would allow an awkward moment. I remember seeing him shake hands with Elliott Eliason after we lost to Minnesota at home and he shook Elliot's hand and they smiled like and acted like they were old friends. I think the people involved in that reunion would just be happy for each other. Yeah but Husker Hoops Fan insisted there was bad blood between Sadler and the Eliason family (before HHF was banned) .

I'm not worried about Ohio State as I believe we can beat anyone right now. I just preferred Purdue as they would have been easier to beat and I would have welcomed an easier game considering we will likely have to play Michigan on Saturday and Wisconsin/MSU on Sunday if we make it there. Adding Ohio State before those two makes it a pretty tough run.

That isn't how statistical probabilities work. Winning in their past outcomes does not increase the probability of a loss in the next game. If you flip a coin 10 times and each time it is heads, there is still a 50/50 chance that the next flip is heads. The next flip is independent of prior flips.

Hopefully we hang with the Buckeyes the first half. Generally the team who played the night before has the advantage of momemtum carrying over to the first half of the 2nd game. Then fatigue sets in the 2nd half.

Either way, I think we're gonna get what we wanted. Both of these teams had to expend a lot of energy today.

We've had this argument before, and I certainly - in part - see your point. But I have to think (hope) that we can leverage the recent success into a bigger haul for 2015. We have 2, maybe 3 open for 2014 and another 2 open for 2015. I agree we have to sign one more this year from what's available from the pile of leftovers. Maybe we can get another filled with a transfer. But I don't mind at all if they keep 1 open in the hopes of signing 3 quality 4-star types, not 2, for the fall signing period. We've got the nation's attention right now and we ought to cultivate that improved image while it is fresh in recruit's minds.

Alright if someone actually has the balls to talk themselves up like this and submit a letter to the editor, they just don't get it. Tim I don't know if you know this, but when Wisconsin deliberately threw the ball right out of bounds multiple times, I screamed my ass off along with 16,000 other fans because they screwed up. That doesn't speak very well of our fan base, does it? Heck we could make these kids cry at night! If you think the Husker Power chant is rude and needs to be discontinued, then what about the "Who cares, you suck" chant that has been used for the past decade? I'm expecting Fuller to be huge for us next year. Adding another shooter to the floor with Shields and Petteway could be lethal. Also I don't expect David Rivers to disappear. He will be big for us next year off the bench.
