Norm Peterson Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 sounds............. ok FWIW, he basically said nothing about his Georgia trip other than, "Just landed." So, I wouldn't read anything into "visit went pretty good" other than maybe that the visit went pretty good. Quote
TheKamdyMan Posted April 12, 2015 Report Posted April 12, 2015 I think people are just reading into things wayyyyy too much. I was catching up with a friend yesterday that is extremely connected to the team and slid in a remark on recruiting and they said the visitor from the other day seemed to love it. Quote

I'd agree with that assessment...this guy has a low key twitter account. Quote
HuskerCager Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Arggh.... Well, you have to credit the guy for being business-like and not stringing along a bunch of schools. Good luck to him. Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 this one really hurts. thought he had a chance to play major minutes right away. Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Miles can't expect to be consistently good without some talented big guys. just look at the final 4: okafor, towns, kaminsky, BirdsOnTheBat 1 Quote
nebrasketball10 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 We had a lot to offer this guy. Tough recruiting loss Quote
Norm Peterson Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Just want everyone to know I am fine. No need for a suicide watch. I've been through far worse. Roburt Sallie to name a few. Norm is fine. Nothing that a little booze won't fix. And right now, I'm indulging in a very satisfying Gin Sling. Superb drink if you don't object to some lemon juice in your hard alcohol. Later on, I might try fisting my couch. Quote
gobigredbrah Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 $$$EC. Tyler Harris is the last option now BirdsOnTheBat 1 Quote
FredsSlacks Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 $$$EC. Tyler Harris is the last option now i can't say i like our odds with harris. we are on a list of about 10 major schools he is looking at. i guess you never know though. Quote

colhusker Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 What is it with big guys and Miles? I mean he has instant playing time to offer and yet we still miss out. Quote
hal9000 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Have we somehow gained a reputation as a place that is bad for big men to go? Does our offensive style scare them away? Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Now on to the kid from Brown? In reality he would probably be a better first year option. We landed Hammond...but eventually we need to start landing bigs to develop if Miles is going to be here for the long haul. Quote

We landed Hammond...but eventually we need to start landing bigs to develop if Miles is going to be here for the long haul. This. This is really the mystery of the Miles recruiting era so far. Why has he not been able to land a serviceable big? And that's probably a bit unfair because he would've had to land one in his first two classes here in order to have that player develop into a serviceable player by now. He struck out on the Vooch. He did bring in Leslee Smith, more than serviceable, but injured/damaged goods. And Hammond may be that 4 year guy who develops into that big we need but that's yet to be seen. I do agree that landing and developing big 10 caliber bigs will be the key to Miles' tenure here. Quote
Swan88 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 The inability is to land a big--who stays healthy. Leslee Smith was a perfectly serviceable big . . . who failed to stay healthy. Old Testament performed well and moved onto a starting role . . . right before he broke his hand. Quote

Perhaps Harriman or another assistant coach has rounded up an underrated big man for NU to scoop up at some point prior to the 2015-16 hoops season.... Quote

One can hope, it just amazes me that Hammonds is the only true big he's gotten out of high school. I mean, we; 1. Play in the best conference top to bottom 2. Have if not the best facilities in the land, very close to 3. Immediate playing time for a kid with a pulse Quote
