When you get a flat tire it just gets really loud and the ride gets bumpy and maybe the car jerks, so I suppose I can see the flat tire analogy. The last time I had a flat it was so cold it took an impact wrench to get the lugs off but in the 15 minutes I was on the side of the road one person I knew as well as five complete strangers stopped to see if I needed help. Thought that was pretty cool. Maybe you can work that part into your analogy.

Yep years over, anybody want my tickets because I quit. Guess my 50 th year of going to games won't be th one. Oh well...

Hey watch for me once we win a couple of games and get things turned around, because Then I will be able to cheer on only when we are winning.

Wish I had the eye roll smiley face on my ipad because this is where I would put it.

I understand, no I'm not bailing on the team.  At some point, realism sets in, I just am not impressed AT ALL with what I see on the court...players and coaches.  Tom Crean outcoached us big time last night, Greg McDermott out coached us big time a month ago, I can't pretend to see progress or a realistic reason for NCAA tourney action.

Can you?  Be honest.

Good thing there are plenty of tire shops around to get new tires.  It's disappointing, but I'm still supporting the team.  Media expectations were much more than the talent on the team.  I think that good to the heads of the players a bit and reality is kicking in.  Still plenty of season to get some good experience for the team.  Hopefully, we start using Fuller and Hammonds as Miles should realize playing 7 isn't working too well.

I guess then I will be honest and say I have been going to games for 50 years. Have I ever been mad or dissapointed oh yeah many times. But I have never questioned the players or the coaches.

I am not at practice, I am not a coach at a high level of sport, I am not worried about what somebody elses job is because I have enough to worry about my job.

I am a fan, so I blindly cheer for my team, I back everything the players and the coaches do as long as it is legal and moral.

I try not to get too worked up about either the wins or loses. What happens happens and I will cheer them as hard as I can to do my part.

As much as it hurts to have this year not be working out like it is, I sure it hurts the players and coaches and their famlies so much harder. Hell we got one coach who has to worry about all this and if his 9 year old will still be round to see us win a game in the NCAA.

That puts it all in perspective for me...So GO BIG RED.

OH and if this makes me a bad fan so be it, ain't gonna change my mind.:)

Silver - very good post.   I would say that makes you a great fan!   Not sure I can fully ascribe to your thoughts but have been around almost as long and generally try to follow the same path.

While what you describe is a great fan - it is also a description of a lousy (or more accurately extremely rare) message board poster. :) :)  :) :)   People who post on message boards are apparently supposed to continually question the coaching decisions and the effort and ability of the players - generally by espousing how they could do everything better.   I will say that there is FAR less of that on this board than any other one that I visit.   If you go to the rivals boards that is virtually ALL you read.

I would like to add that there are posters that post occasionally, and then show up to post in the game thread and have nothing good to say. And dog on the players/player and that gets a bit old. You have to remember that they kids and are playing as hard as they can.

I don't think anyone is dogging the players, but it's pretty clear our current 7 man rotation isn't good enough.

Things could look a lot different if moses and leslee had been playing all season.

Unfortunately, injuries happen and we are struggling because of them.

You are wrong about Crean outcoaching Miles last night.  Indiana had considerably more talent on the floor, and we got beat by 5  points.  We rebound the ball with 35 seconds left (just bricked it off our hands) we have the ball down 3.  We have 2 or 3 guys on the floor at all times who don't have to be guarded.  You try to devise an offense with that.  Pitchford is out most the first half with foul trouble.  The only coaching area you could look at critically would be not adjusting to the lob play.

And what's your ultimate point?  We won't make the NCAA tournament so its all over for the program?  I like what we have coming back, and what we have coming in.  Programs aren't always built with a straight line going up.

This year, we have 2 really good wings and not much else.  To use last night as an example of getting outcoached and not making progress is picking the wrong game.  We actually raised the level of our play from what we have been showing.  We're still pretty average, but we showed a lot of progress with turnovers and second half D.

I agree it doesn't look good for making the tournament, but I'm still bullish on Miles and his ability to build a competitive program at a difficult place to do it in.

Look, I and you saw an NCAA tourney team last year....returning virtually 90% of its scoring.  We haven't stepped up our game one bit, in fact, we've stepped it back.  Intelligent fans don't have to be blind ones, and vice-versa.  My opinion was sweet 16ish pre-season, not expecting to see such poor execution and a lack of ball dicipline.

I believe the evidence is showing that Miles isn't a guy that is going to out scheme anyone, he's a guy requiring superior talent, and I hope his talent is to pull that in.

Explain how a well coached team loses AT HOME to Creighton and Incarnate Word??

Did you expect to see injuries to Leslee and Moses?  Because as I see it, that's more of a factor than the lack of execution so far.

No, I think he expected to see more out of Leon Gilmore and Ricky Kreklow and is pissed at how his own team's NCAA tourney hopes are evaporating and so, to make himself feel better, signed up over here and figured he'd come rub our noses in a loss.

in all seriousness, if leslee and moses had been playing all season we'd at the very least be 9-4. probably 10-3

Is it frustrating, yep.  Have we dug a hole?  Yep a small one and the shovel is still in the dirt.  But as other pointed out, IF Pitchford can start making some shots like yesterday and we get one or both rim protectors back, that hole can be filled pretty dang fast.

Of course he is a troll but it is still fun to follow the thread. The Dead President hasn't replied recently because he is busy on the Florida State message board presiding over the "Fire Jimbo" fan club.

You all are likely being trolled.  I could be wrong...but, this guy opens a new name and while all of his posts are in regards to the Huskers he name drops Creighton in the majority of them.
