hhcmatt Posted March 6, 2016 Report Posted March 6, 2016 Anyone see the resemblance of Roby's size and game to Jared Uthoff? If he can hit the 3 and only eats 1 day a week he'll be a spitting image Cornhoopers 1 Quote

khoock Posted March 18, 2016 Report Posted March 18, 2016 https://twitter.com/RobinWashut/status/710864477827129345If you were to compare 3A basketball in Illinois to Nebraska what would it be? Quote
Huskerpapa Posted March 18, 2016 Report Posted March 18, 2016 This is the class size qualifications for Illinois Boys Basketball 1A: up to 275.00, 2A: 275.01 to 551.00, 3A: 551.01 to 1378.00, 4A: 1378.01 and over For comparison sake. In Nebraska, Lincoln Pius is always dancing between Class A and Class B. They have approximately 850 students. Omaha Central is one of our larger Class A schools has approximately 1900 students. So 3A in Illinois is akin to a high Class B to medium Class A school in Nebraska. A school in Nebraska with approximately 1350 students is Lincoln Southwest; so in Illinois, Southwest would likely be 3A. Quote
Dean Smith Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 C1 ish So High C1 and low B No the numbers say high B middle A hhcmatt and Norm Peterson 2 Quote
ajb5856 Posted March 19, 2016 Report Posted March 19, 2016 I alway think this is stupid when we do the size comparisons for the classes between states. It doesn't really make any sense. We all know the level of competition here in Nebraska high school hoops. Obviously, even if he did play in a C1 comparative class by size in Illinois, that doesn't compute to a Nebraska C1 level of play/competition. mwm89 1 Quote

Every LPS school would be a 4A school in Illinois but I doubt the talent is comparable. Quote

busticket Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I honestly see a lot of similarities with Roby and Porter's game (Rivals #2 in 2017 class). I think we got a heck of a steal here. Quote
MandRHusker Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I'll repeat again that I have been told by people within the program they think he'll be a starter next season. mwm89, hhcmatt and Norm Peterson 3 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 At risk of getting this thread > 20 pages, I'd just add he's proving among all-stars that he's the talented kid we thought he was. Excited to see him in a Husker uniform. Long dang off-season. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 And to top it off, he is fast: Dixon 94, Mendota 50: Isaiah Roby made his season debut after a foot injury and helped set a senior class record in the 800 relay during a dual win at Mendota. The all-senior quartet of Roby, Nate Gascoigne, Benny Mayes and Kyle LeBlanc finished in 1:39.25, and represented one of 12 meet wins for the Dukes. Gascoigne also ran the second leg on the winning 1,600 relay team (3:39.55), joining Josh Dallas, Bryson Forrest and Jared Harrison. Red Don, HB, Red Rum and 4 others 7 Quote
