I wasn’t. But it was fun listening to my dad’s stories again last night. He talked about when we beat Cazzie Russell and Michigan.  And he was talking about beating wilt chamberlain in 1958.

I'm happy my kids are old enough that they're going to remember watching this one

My grandson was in our contingent of seats.  As the hysteria was dying down and he returned from the floor, I looked him square in the eyes and said this will be a lifelong memory.  That my friends is beyond cool.

For the people who were there last night, the cameras were scanning the crowd to show former Huskers in attendance on the big screen.

One of those former Huskers was on the team the LAST time we knocked off a #1. Who was it? Anyone see it?

Kind of a lucky guess. I was too young to remember 82 (I was 4). But knew Matzke goes to games and was a senior on the 86 team, so guessed he was a redshirt in 82.

Actually -- I looked it up -- he played that season and redshirted the following year.

I should have known that - he's a friend from way back. He's a great guy!
