REDZONEDAN Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 I was 7. I don’t remember it, so this one was pretty special for me. I told my wife and boys to remember this game, because seeing this doesn’t happen very often. Quote
hhctony Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 One hand, here. But can't say I was too locked into the 1982 team at 6-years old. Bugeaters1 1 Quote

hhcscott Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 I was 12 in 1982 and assistant coach Tom Baack's wife, Paula (?...It was Mrs. Baack to us) was the music teacher at Holmes Elementary (Lincoln) around that time. she was the person who first brought Husker Hoops to my attention. Got to my first game ever around that time...Jack Moore was amazing. Silverbacked1, Vinny, hal9000 and 3 others 3 3 Quote
KoH Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 I wasn’t. But it was fun listening to my dad’s stories again last night. He talked about when we beat Cazzie Russell and Michigan. And he was talking about beating wilt chamberlain in 1958. Quote
Red Rum Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 Not old enough to remember but I was alive in 82 Quote
jimmykc Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 One and 1/2. I listened to the radio game in '82 and wasn't in Lincoln for the earlier game. But I was right behind the basket on January 27, 1979 for the biggest upset at that time at the new BDSC when Bobby Moore beat KU in overtime on a half court shot. (so I have that going for me). Norm Peterson Posted January 10, 2024 Author Report Posted January 10, 2024 For the people who were there last night, the cameras were scanning the crowd to show former Huskers in attendance on the big screen. One of those former Huskers was on the team the LAST time we knocked off a #1. Who was it? Anyone see it? Quote

Navin R. Johnson Posted January 10, 2024 Report Posted January 10, 2024 One hand up for me. I remember being on the road for a high school basketball game when I heard the score on the radio. Can't remember who we played. Quote

But knew Matzke goes to games and was a senior on the 86 team, so guessed he was a redshirt in 82. AuroranHusker 1 Quote

Cazzie22 Posted January 11, 2024 Report Posted January 11, 2024 I remember Fred Hare of long gone Omaha Technical scoring over his head to beat Cazzie Russell and Michigan. I acquired my moniker Cazzie from that player. Beating Sunvold and Stipanovich and Stormin’ Norman in Columbia is a great memory. Yes, I am old.
