I think marketing is part of the family brand.

He's the son of Sharavjamts "Shark" Tserenjanhor

Apparently his father was discovered by a scout who thought he would make a great D-1 prospect...until he found out Shark was 27.

Ended up becoming a Globetrotter.

Quite an interesting story - https://www.fiba.basketball/asiacup/2025/pre-qualifiers/news/son-of-a-shark-mongolia-s-mike-sharavjamts-waits-for-his-turn

First visit is SF and their large Mongolian population and tons of playing time. Hope he doesn’t commit on the visit but they are on his list for a reason

So, I think one of the points of feedback he received from dipping his toe into the NBA draft waters this spring was he needs to prove himself against a higher level of competition. How does USF do that for him?

They do play in the same league as Gonzaga...

I hope he plans to take a tour of the Tenderloin. I hear it is beautiful this time of year as long as you watch out where you step.

Had a couple of buddies that lived there circa 2013. My wife and I stayed with them once. It was freaking dicey then. Can't imagine what it's like now. Wouldn't let her walk to the corner store by herself in the day time. She thought I was crazy. I thought she was oblivious.

I always do the Torvik rostercast to see how a potential newcomer would affect our rating. For some reason, we drop from 45 to 51 with Mongolian Mike. Strange.

his stats were butt last year

I love that he is visiting San Francisco first.  If there is one place in this country that can make Lincoln look like a 5* resort by comparison, it's the Bay Area.

Places in San Francisco where people have reported encountering human poop.

Can't blame him.  You want kids to feel comfortable where they're at.  If I was an asian kid I'd probably feel more at home in SF too.

This one would have been a "nice to get" kinda deal but not "make or break" IMO.
