I had to take a peek at BJU. My God, the number of excuses they make is entertaining, as well as their constant rhetoric of them being "smart" bball fans and us being the "dumb" ones. Last night was so great! Hope we can keep it up!

For us being so damn stupid and them being so damn brilliant and employing us, you would never know it if you judged by the level of wit and wisdom on the message boards.  This board just completely boatraces that shitshow.  Even more so than us boatracing their basketball team.

Bo used to do this all the time. He, his assistant coaches, and the recruits were at a lot of games. Riley did not do it nearly as much but once in a while would see some show up.

As much as I hate defending Riley, while he was here we actually had very few Saturday games at home.

The funniest thing I saw at the game was a jay fan, dressed in his jay shirt, sitting two rows in front of us.

In the first half the Huskers went on a run and there was a timeout. The band started playing There Is No Place Like Nebraska.

He was clapping along and he continued to clap through the whole song, much to the amusement of my row.

I guess that is a true jaysker.

CU fans are losing their minds. Some are spinning this as a “good” thing, since the CU win in their minds guarantees Miles will be back and get an extension and therefore CU will continue to dominate. Wow. A degree from CU does not necessarily make a smart person.

No but it does make you arrogant.

Saw that one guy was trying to say we won because we made more shots. That’s also called we played better lol

they got a few vicious guys over there from bashing players like bishop(there best recruit a year ago) to a guy saying coach Mac is an average to below average.

So basically they post the same stuff we do after a loss ?

Here's the thing about this game: we didn't just win, we flat out dominated these guys in a manner that you might expect for a team playing against its 8th easiest remaining opponent.

I saw some tweets about people being tense about a double digit lead not being enough but to the non-invested viewer you just saw dominance.

We might like to bag on the Creighton program but look at the paragraph from Sipple's column on Sunday

Maybe this was just a conversation spun to look a certain way for the purpose of the article but I seriously doubt you'd see anyone in their administration ever make a comment like that because they are, if only by default, a basketball school.

If those high-ranking school officials are upset with going 8-2, including a win at Clemson, and being ranked I wonder how upset they're gonna be when Ernie Kent goes 3-7 and PBA is 1/3 full for games?

Sometimes it boggles the mind how stupid people are.

Was Moos at this game?

I saw that.  And my thought was "If you're a 'high-ranking school official' and you find yourself in Steve Sipple's company, and there's even a remote chance of an unattributed, off-the-record, negative comment of yours about the basketball program winding up in his weekend column, it would be smart to shut your pie hole."

You hear that?  You know who you are, Mr. high-ranking school official.  Chances are good you read this board, at least from time to time.

Shut your pie hole.

Thanks,

Norm

P.S.  I'm sure I'll have more suggestions for you as the season progresses.

According to my English teacher a seven page paper (double spaced) is equivalent to 10 minutes of podcasting. So here you go a seven page essay on Nebraska beating Creighton.  ?

Look for another more complete episode coming soon!

Good News and Bad News

As promised a full episode! Jake and Caleb discuss the last two Nebraska games while the pod opens with a new announcement and a new intro.

Does that make this a 25 page essay?

Another thought I had about Sipple's "high-ranking school official" comment was who that school official could possibly be.

Is the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences a "high-ranking school official?"  Sure.  But, in this context, Sipple wouldn't have referred to them as such.  In the context of the athletic department, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences doesn't really qualify as "high-ranking."

The list of those who would qualify for that designation is … very short:

Hank Bounds

Ronnie Green

Bill Moos

Marc Boehm

That's it.  Anyone other than those 4 people doesn't really count as a "high-ranking school official" in the context of talking about an athletic program.

I have a guess as to who that official was, but I can tell you I doubt it was Moos or Boehm.

I don't have a lot of influence through the podcast but I will do anything I can to stop this madness.

A large part of that big run we had in the first half came with Palmer on the bench.

Yes.  Absolutely correct.  I turned to the guy next to me when Palmer went out and said we need to be able to keep scoring with him on the bench.

Next thing I turnaround and we've extended the lead and now we're up 30-14.  It was beautiful.

We did. They literally had no answer for our offense. Every time they got a bucket we would go down and get an easy one. We shot well...but they are a pretty horrible defensive team.

Creighton....nice skill players. Can shoot the ball. But, they lack athleticism and we were clearly superior in that department. Our guys really wanted it and played that way as well. If we continue to bring that energy at the PBA the only team that may have a chance against us at home is MSU. Keep the home streak alive.

Sorry if this has already been posted or discussed somewhere but from this morning's article by Chris Basnett, I did not realize this:

Creighton — run and gun, let it fly Creighton — finished with zero fast-break points.

https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/nebraska-defense-regains-its-edge-while-slowing-jays-attack/article_784642b6-ed57-54cc-a906-c886f933cb59.html?utm_content=buffer5f911&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=LEEDCC#25

Unbelievable effort. Beat them at their own game. Couldn't be more pleased with how this game went.
