  3. I know we changed some coaches after that too but I agree it really showed Fred that we need a group of guys who buy in and fits what we want to do. it is also more fun to watch effort and ability of the guys who have been here the last two years.

  4. Though Bryce's year here went down the pooper rather quickly (losing to Western Illinois hurt), I still think he provided the spark we needed to be successful. I think Bryce's year her showed Fred that we weren't going to be able to compete on talent alone. I think it showed Fred that we're really going to have to recruit to a system. The following year we get Sammy G, we start playing hard nosed ball, beat CU at CU for the first of at least two consecutive trips, and finish 16-16. Then we make the dance last year and are on pace to make it again this year. Bryce's year here stunk, he was a really good player, but just a freshman who had to be "the man". The guys around him struggled to gel together. However, his year here, IMO, wasn't for naught. I believe his year changed the trajectory of our program BECAUSE of the struggles we saw with him here. We really had to change our philosophy after that.

  5. I have a question. Who are you going to schedule in the non conference ? No halfway decent team will Agree to Play a home game in Lincoln in the non conference. So Nebraska would have Go on the road to Play the better teams So when we end up with a 4-7 record in non conference, you would be after coaches ass.

  8. Gavin's shot is 100% pure, that is for sure. Klay Thompson-esque. He's also 6'7" with fluid athleticism and his teammates love him. That's a guy that's worth being patient with if he's willing to stick with it. I'm guessing his postseason coaches evaluation meeting, where they imply a player should leave or stay, will go very different than Eli's did.

  9. Not a playing pro, but still great news for him - gonna go out on a limb and say he won't be sending any of his D-1 prospects to play at UW-Green Bay

  10. Speaking of— big one for Rutgers tonight at Indiana. If they can’t pull that one out, they get three home games against Wisco, Purdue, and UCLA before coming to Lincoln.

  13. For sure, I’d just like to have a “Cushion” to work with & I’m certainly not suggesting a 5-2 or 4-3 Start will be easy. There’s obviously no way of knowing which other Teams will match their expectations or dramatically Rise/Fall. I’d like to Start out HOT taking care of UCLA-Rutgers @ Home & hopefully stealing one or two of the 3 Road Games.

  14. First time seeing Michigan. They are tall and can run the floor. Hanging with the Bruins in the third quarter.

  15. Like the announcers said it’s been a brutal 3 game stretch for NU. This is where playing all those creampuffs and cupcakes at the start of the season didn’t serve us to prepare us for how brutal conference play will be. But at the same time, I understand scheduling lesser competition to log wins and gain critical confidence as a team.

    Starting lineup

All I gotta say the summer between my freshman year and sophomore year in college met a nice girl that I started dating. Had to go back to my college not here in Lincoln so I could keep playing football. Kept up the long distance thing as my folks really liked her and brought her along to games. She is very smart, hot, compatible with me, which ain’t easy and we really do seem to be clinking. Well met a girl at the bar one night and start fooling around with her. Not great but available daily. So kind try to dump home town girl, and got new “girl friend”. Forget to tell mom and dad and next game she shows up with mom and dad. We have a long talk after the game and I realize this is the one. 45 years later, 40 married 3 boys and oh yeah she became a lawyer and does well there. So I almost screwed up the perfect thing for me. Hope Fred likes the starting lineup he is dating now and doesn’t change it just because you know he was thinking with the “wrong head”

  18. I don't think so because what you're losing in scoring punch, your gaining in defense. Who cares if we start slow on offense and only score 10ish points if the other team has 4. Right now Meah presents something that Morgan doesn't on D-- he is HUGE in the middle.

We do seem to start off halves slow, especially offensively. But I don't think they're changing anything with an 11-2 record and 5 straight wins by double digits.

  20. It's all Wake Forest. That 18% sharpshooter from deep is Parker Friedrichsen. We got Connor. Hunter Sallis is the other guard. Obviously, very good. Still, I'd take Brice. And Omaha Beliew is the third one. We got Berke. And we're better for it. And that's probably why we're Torvik top 30 and Wake is #104.

  21. I would agree with this. Early in the year, I said there was no one on the roster that I had that "confidence" in with shooting that I did Keisei. I take that back now. Whenever Connor puts one up, like Keisei, it's almost more of a shock when it doesn't go in.
