  1. Have never met the coach. I think Rachel has only talked, at length, to her once. Rachel was very impressed and as she put it... "I'm excited."

  2. FWIW they talked to a listener who only follows women's basketball on a passing level. His premise is that Amy isn't a good hire because she's a Summit league coach and not ready for this level and the same logic is applied to her staff. I'd argue she is a very good hire. She seems to be extremely high energy, and she gives every indication that she really cares about her players. (I'm not saying Yori didn't). More than a few coaches start at a lower level... Bill Self seems to be working out well for Kansas. He started at Oral Roberts. Coach Yori came from Creighton. However, many of the great coaches (Krzyzewski, Dean Smith, Izzo, Roy Williams) were assistants at big programs prior to getting a head coach job at a big program. As we all know... We'll have to see how this plays out on the court. I'm confident and optimistic that she'll get these girls to play hard and fast.

  4. IS the street you are on full of falling skies and drugs?White isnt going to not come back just because we cant recruit a big man. Tai isnt going anywhere either. It might affect White's decision because I'm sure he doesn't want to play a lot at the 4 next year.I don't think he would have to with Jacobson, Morrow, McVeigh, Roby, Horne, and Fuller all capable of playing the four

No. don't think so. Just trying to be realistic.....but Romeo may be gone, and it sounds currently like we won't get both Cayton, and maybe Doyle..so we will probably need at least two guards. There's still a chance on Doyle.....keep your fingers crossed big time. Rylie Cascio Jensen will be a nice add on such "short notice" if you will. The LJS article quotes from her sounds like she's a real positive hard worker.

There may be a few de-commitments from a few schools to look at but that would seem pretty scarce. Here's something Jeff Walz told me a long time ago. "If a high school recruit didn't sign in the November signing period and then played her senior season and still didn't catch on with a school in the April signing period, there's usually a reason why."

  19. I for one an too ! Kind of talked out ....about all the drama. Let's get through this next couple of months and move on to next season. Let the chips fall where they may this summer.....the recruits, and any new ads decide, ....and the "new" team can then get settled, organized, practice hard, and prepare for the preseason. Coach William's and lady Huskers...."I'm excited."

  24. So . . . this is all a little weird. Try, for example, to find anything about Jordy Tshimanga on a Minnesota basketball message board from the past ten days. I can't find any. Try to find anything about Jordy Tshimanga on a UNLV basketball message board since the hiring of their new coach. I can't find anything. You'd think that, if some real fire exists with either of these schools, there'd be at least a little smoke emitting from the fan bases--that's how it always works. But then, again, maybe I'm simply missing some obvious online info out there.

  25. Kenya was kind of a beast when we got him. Georgetown > Butler? Kenya has some recruiting cred after some of his gets here. If Lewis ends up being the best hire that will say something great about Lewis. Molinari was no slouch when we got him either (even if he catches hell on here), from a reputation in the basketball world. I love the Lewis hire, but from a "where's he at; what's he done" standpoint, I don't have him jumping out as the best hire. Those were strong hires in those circumstances, yes. I'm thinking more along the lines of he played for Bobby Knight at IU and left the school as its all-time leader in assists. How many top coaches were point guards? He's shown stability in his coaching stops and he apparently handled kind of an offensive coordinator role for a Butler team that was consistently in the post-season. Plus, according to Dimes, he's a Recruiter with a capital R. Offensive Xs and Os guy who is a strong recruiter. And he approached Miles about the opening, not the other way around. At first blush to me at least, this looks like a pretty good hire. Seems like an indication of how far we've come in the last 4 years that we're arguing about what level of great this hire is. Credit Miles for doing what he does and credit the administration for putting him in a position to do it.

  28. I guess I go back much longer than you dimes. In the 70's and early 80's many of our best players came out of Indiana...Steve Willis, Brian Banks, Carl McPipe, Jerry Shoecraft, Jack Moore, Eric Williams, just to name a few. I would have zero issues reestablishing that pipeline.

  29. Here's the cliff's notes version for those who don't want to read the whole column: "Oh, jeez, these grapes are sour! WOW that one is even more sour than the one before! Gosh, I had no idea grapes could be this sour...and I wish I weren't eating such sour fruit. Hand me that bowl of sour grapes over there please..."

  30. Noted, but I have a bit too much self-respect and self-interest to silence my dissenting opinions. Suppressing myself would go against the teachings of Ms. Rand, no? Fast facts: did you know Ayn Rand accepted both Social Security and Medicare? She was bilking the coffers of the government like a welfare mother to pay for her mounting healthcare bills as a result of her two-pack-a-day smoking habit. Hypocrite to the end. I believe that we can be unified in our love of Husker sports (and hatred of all things Creighton) and still vehemently disagree on politics. All of our blood runs red, even that which spouts from my bleeding, liberal heart. My apologies for rubbing people the wrong way. I will do my best to keep things more on topic.

  31. You really can't name a single Butler player? You need to watch more basketball! More Utah Jazz basketball, especially. They have two Bulldogs on the freaking roster. You seriously don't remember Gordon Hayward or Shelvin Mack?!? Gordon has averaged 20-5-4 the past two seasons. That's NBA All-Star level ball. That said, Butler produced zero NBA-level before those two. People have short memories. It's all about what have you done lately, and Butler is definitely winning that battle. But on a more serious note, if we are seriously using the term "butt hurt" on this board, then we have reached our nadir. I'd fully expect to see that used on a Buffs/Mizzou board, but I'd like to think we can do better, fellas. Save that kind of nonsense for your playground rock fights. Sorry, but "butthurt" is the perfect term for what has been coming out of central Indiana over the past few days. Especially from the guy in Ft. Wayne. Hmmm... I guess I always thought it was more of a cop-out insult for sophomoric, uncreative trolls with origins rooted in homophobia/transphobia? Whose usage is usually an incredibly strong indicator of ignorance, along with a preference for the literary works of Ayn Rand or the unwavering support for the US Presidential campaign of Donald Trump. My apologies, didn't mean to get butthur...no. Just no. That said, my parents lived in Ft. Wayne for around two years and I can confidently confirm that both the city and its inhabitants are generally pretty shitty. "Fort Wayne? What exactly do you have that's worth protecting?!?"* *Disclaimer: joke may have been stolen from Jerry Seinfeld's stand-up act in Ft. Wayne, IN circa 2004.
