    The Nebraska women’s basketball team hopes to complete a perfect extended season-opening weekend, when the No. 17/12 Huskers take on Alabama on Monday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
    Tip-off between the Huskers (1-0) and Crimson Tide (0-1) is set for 7 p.m.
    The Veterans Day battle between the Big Red and Alabama will cap a resounding opening weekend for the Huskers in their new home. Nebraska rolled to a 77-49 win over UCLA in front of a Husker non-conference record 9,750 fans.
    Alabama lost at Chattanooga in the debut of former Purdue and Texas Tech Coach Kristy Curry. The Mocs, who Nebraska defeated in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament, had six players in double figures against Alabama. Shafontaye Myers led four Alabama players in double figures with 19 points.
    Curry is guiding an Alabama team that returns two starters and six letterwinners from a team that finished 13-18 overall and 2-14 in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama tied for 13th in the SEC.
