Brice was excellent.

I think what kills this team the most is lack of shooting and having a big man that can pass. 

Morgan, Berke, and Meah are horrific passers.

Is it just me, or is Essegain open most of the time on back doors ? 

Our bigs just can't pass the ball at a high enough level.

I agree, I would have loved Brice to take that last shot. A TO is always a "we should have called one" when the shot doesn't go down, but Michigan was scrambling a little bit. It wasn't like the game earlier this year where we dribbled around forever without a good look only to have Connor heave one up.

Where I disagree the most is the "low percentage shot" comment. That was a quality shot. Wide open, in transition, his feet were set, and there was no contest. Sure, he has definitely struggled, but that was not a low percentage shot. Especially when we only shot like 29 percent from two yesterday.

But I can remember multiple times earlier this year with the game on the line him dribbling off his leg or turning it over. Essegian was WIDE open. His look was a good shot. High percentage (or should be) look.

Plus they would have run Brice into the front row of seats and stomped on his hand.  But no call or A CHARGE would have been whistled.

Im saying low percentage based on the game and Connor's recent performance.  I think Brice taking a 2 pt shot, down only 1, would have been playing the percentages better.

I will say twice last night Conner had a shot that would have taken the roof off the place last night.  

It will be better, we didn't let Penn State beat us tonight, we cant let Michigane do the same on Saturday.

Good time to have a 5 day rest and a home game.  Be there Saturday and be loud.  Weather is suppose to hold up!

If anything, Brice Williams deserves to be in March Madness. 

I feel like this will be the year we win our first tourney game simply because at this point in the season almost nobody thinks it will happen. It would be the most nebrasketball thing ever.

I've thought a little bit about this. Weak bubble provides us quite the opportunity to get in despite us doing everything we can to not get in. We have the ability to "grind" and defense travels (usually). We have a "dawg" who can score at all three levels and could live at the line. We know that MM games can sometimes turn into free throw contests. We've proven we can win away from home both at a neutral site and true road environments.

IDK-- I just have this feeling that everything is going to work itself out. We're not a "top team" by any means, but we have the ability to be a team that hangs around like a gnat in any game we play.

Once I got home to watch the highlights of the game, I realize why Brice passed to Connor at the end. He really didn’t even have a chance for a drive or pull-up. 3 is blanketing him. 1 is waiting in the paint. 42 was on Sam (and has 8-9 inches on him). It’s not just the big men that can’t pass, we miss 4 or 5 wide open rollers per half most nights it feels like.  I know meahs hands are suspect but he never gets a pass when he actually rolls to the hoop

I don't know, I'm not sure you get a better shot out of a timeout.  Michigan was on their heels a bit and Connor is pretty good at that trailing three.  He had two in the 1st half that looked good.  Winning teams make those.  It may have been a bit early though.  Michigan would have had enough time.

This. I would say nobody on this team has the vision and passing ability of Mast or Walker. Those guys not only had the feel to know that their teammates are open before their teammates even know it, but were also able to complete the pass on time and on target. 

On this roster, Mast is the best passer, the best rebounder, and of the bigs on the roster is the best shooter and scorer. Was also incredibly durable - played 30mpg on a bad knee. Everything would look different if he was able to play this year.

If we can get in I feel like this team has more to it than previous tournament teams.

Hell of a fight last night.  Keep giving effort like that and shots will fall in a couple more games for wins.  

Brice's pass to Essegian was perfect at the end.  He got in the lane, drew traffic, and set his 3pt specialist teammate up for a step in, squared up, wide open 3.  Moment was a little too big for Essegian maybe, but he's here to bury that shot.  It just didn't fall.  

Also, I should point out while we're discussing our bigs' offensive shortcomings, we have also gotten an upgrade on the defensive end in terms of shot blocking/contesting/altering (we average over 1 block per game between our 3 bigs compared to less than 1 with our 2 bigs last season).  Despite a few blowouts, the defensive effort of this team should be lauded to this point.  Berke and Meah are a problem for opponents when they are trying to score.  Let's see how the rest shakes our with Berke back on the court.  Don't forget he was out for Penn State and that was pretty devastating.  We also had to pull the NW win out of our asses without him.  

I'm encouraged.

He wasn't just wide open, he was perfectly balanced, in rhythm, right in his shooting pocket. You couldn't get that shot as clean doing it 5 on 0.

Looking back maybe should of used a timeout since It was 5 on 3 i believe.  Could of had enough time to draw up a play that wasnt rushed.
