I wonder if Molinari had anything to do with our defense tonight?   ;)

Nope he doesn't know anything about it.

This argument is blown way out of proportion. Players, not coaches cause defensive stops. Coaches can try all they want to put players in the best defensive position, but it's up to the players to execute and make adjustments on the fly.

I heard a rumor they don't play much D in AAU ball

We didn't settle tonight. We wanted to get to the rim and we did. We have to keep that attacking mentality up, although with tired legs this will to tougher. Tired legs cause you to settle, we cannot settle. Also, Andrew White must not allow himself to become one dimensional. He is such a dynamic player when he makes the defense respect the drive.

These guys are young and their legs won't have anything to do with it. It is about maintaining their intensity which is a much bigger challenge.

Game Notes

Notes
*-With the win, the Huskers will play Maryland on Friday. The Huskers lost the only regular-season meeting, 70-65, on Feb. 3
*-Nebraska avenged a 72-61 loss to Wisconsin in Madison on Feb. 10, a game where Shavon Shields and Ed Morrow Jr. did not play. NU also snapped a three-game losing streak to the Badgers dating back to 2014
*-Shavon Shields finished with a game-high 20 points, his second straight 20-point effort and fourth in the last five games. Shields now has 1,611 points, moving past Jaron Boone (1,609) for sixth on NU’s career scoring list.
*-Shields now has been in double figures in 15 straight games
*-Nebraska held Wisconsin to 30.2 percent shooting. Only Oklahoma, which held the Badgers to 23.5 percent shooting held Wisconsin to a lower shooting percentage
*- The 30.2 percent shooting was the second-lowest total by a Husker opponent (25.9 by Mississippi Valley State in the opener).
*-Benny Parker made his 129th career appearance, moving into a tie for second all-time at Nebraska
*-Benny Parker reached double figures for the third time this season with 12 points. Prior to tonight, Parker averaged just 3.5 ppg in six previous games with Wisconsin
*-Glynn Watson Jr. reached double figures for the 14th time this season as he finish with 16 points
*-Nebraska had nine steals against Wisconsin and has averaged 10.0 steals per game in the Big Ten Tournament.

Best game the staff coached on defense all year.  And it isn't close.  Wisconsin couldn't play much worse, but we created at least some of it.  Hell of a job by the staff.  I assume Molinari had a lot to do with the scheme.  If that is the case, he gets a big thumbs up.

Boom... Nice game and Nice win.

Benny had some clutch plays tonight.  Pretty darn good game for a guy that shouldn't even be playing Big 10 ball.  Was at State Basketball, so didn't get to watch a lot of the game tonight.  Sounds like It was a nice team effort!

Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

this has been fun, but i'd hate to know what the odds are of us beating maryland, mich st, and iniana all in a row.

I like that a lot more than I like facing Purdue.

1. It was good to see Petteway at the game last night.

2. I'm sure we are all in agreement that was the team we wanted to see all season.

3. I think I like the whites much better than I like the red unis, but if I have to see them in red like 3 more times, I'd live with it.

I believe the quote was something like "and our halftime entertainment, a spinning man with a dog on his back" (not actual footage of last night)

The guy had his shirt off at our game and they called him a nearly naked guy with a dog on his back, spinning.

Also, Kent Pavelka is definitely one of us:

This may not be a very popular opinion, but I'd like to see Kent be a little bit more controlled during his broadcast. It's ok to get excited, but you're on a radio call screaming like we won the national title. Just a little much for my taste

Certainly not going to be popular.  I have heard some other teams announcers and you better be damn thankful we have Kent.  Bash Benny, bash the Freshman, bash Miles, bash the team... but NEVER bash Mr. Kent P.

I'll leave it at that.

His name is Christian Stoinev and the dog's name is Scooby.

They were on America's Got Talent a couple years ago:
