Today Biggs got a routine type of sentence for a first offense DUI from Judge Marcuzzo in Douglas County. Coach Miles earlier said he was letting the legal process work out before he disciplined Deverell. So now what follows?

If it was me he would just have some extreme internal discipline very apparent to the team, but not very visible to outsiders..(not the loss of games/playing time etc.)

But coaches have to worry about not only this incident but what may happen in the future. How should this be handled?

Im sure hes done the time for Coach Miles for running and all that, and have a set number of games he will have to sit out.  Half a season is just ludicrous considering it happened during this past season.  He made a mistake, learned a lesson, lost a lot of money and will have this on his record for ever.  Im sure he's had to bust his butt to stay with the team so you dont need to discipline much more from here.  He got what would be expected for a first time DUI recipient.

Stay consistant with the UNL athletic department discipline with these matters.  This is strike one.  Do not let there be a strike two, otherwise, the discipline should follow the same pattern as other athletes received within the department...and a few coaches and administrators as well.

Running sprints and stairs doesn't seem to match the seriousness of the offense to me.  He committed a misdemeanor against the city of lincoln, and he broke team rules simultaneously.  Therefore, he should do some community service, and should serve a  minimal suspension (one or two games).

Pretty sure it is Omaha.

Yeah, but his offense was a little more than a DUI.  He also fled the scene, which is actually a more serious charge.

Probably realized he was to close to that hell hole of a campus known as Creighton and wanted to get the hell away.

Oops, my bad.  Well, who cares if it's Omaha :P

I'd give him a two game suspension and tell him that if he wants to play in the opener (because it's a special game -- there will never be another first game in the PBA) that it'd be a three gamer with letting him pick the three games.  Seems fair.

Yeah... I would not mind letting him pick the three, cause he will pick the 3 we have the best chance to win.

I say either suspend for the opener... or let him pick 3.
