I saw the replacements at the Drum Stick in Lincoln around 1985 or 86 when Bob Stinson was still in the band as well. Saw them again at the Peony Park Ballroom a few years later with Slim on guitar.

I talked to Paul Westerberg and shook his hand at the Peony Park show. Great band!

Not sure how they did not become more popular. Definitely in my all time top five.

lord, westerberg was a two-legged trainwreck. insanely talented, but erratic as an Italian tour bus driver after a speedball.

Did anyone have Sunday Will Never Be The Same by Spanky and Our Gang last Sunday?

Many may not have seen the thread in time (given it is the offseason) to get their Sunday songs in.

My guess is some of us may have been waiting for the week to wrap back around again.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Theme song from the movie "The Sterile Cuckoo". Saw this horrible movie the year we got married in 1969 and yet we have managed to stick together this long. Interesting factoid: It was titled "Pookie" when shown in the UK ('nuf said).

Holy crap, this was 50 years ago.

Norm: This one played at least 100 times on the AM radio when I drove nonstop from Boston to Kansas City in 1970. My wife had flown to my parents' home after delivering our second child a few days earlier and it lightened up a long and lonely drive (and kept me awake). Always had a soft spot for Chicago after that.

I'm taking some liberties here but, Saturday Night Fever is one of the top selling movie soundtrack albums of all time.

Geez, rookies.

Jive Talkin' was released 2 years before Saturday Night Fever.  😉

It's on the SNF sound track, though. It was used in a scene that was cut from the film, according to Mr. Wikipedia.
