I won’t lie— it was kind of fun to see Creighton whiners still going last night and this morning.  Saying things like “sure would have been nice to see Creighton play UCONN” and complaining about how much they were/weren’t shown in One Shining Moment.

Another Big East team was the only chance we had at getting a better game. UConn was a damn locomotive otherwise.

The 4th place Big East team won it all.  I guess Kenpom did know something after all.  UCONN is very talented but didn’t put it together until the end of the season.  Exactly what you want to happen to make a deep tournament run.

I wish we would click at the end of the season one of these years…just friggin ONCE.

UConn started the season ranked #27 by Pomeroy, but by late November they moved into the top ten at #8 after beating Alabama, then #6 after beating Iowa State.  They were never lower than #6 all season after that even during their slump in January losing 6 out of 8 games.

By contrast Creighton started at #23 and were only in the top ten (#9) for a few days in mid February after beating UConn on the road.  They were mostly ranked between #12 and #15.

So perhaps by record UConn was fourth in their own league but by KenPom at least they were easily #1 in the Big East with Marquette second and Creighton third followed by Xavier and Providence.  Ken probably doesn't get enough credit for his algorithms.

Let’s not forget who took down KenPom this season…*A-hem*

@jdw What gives on the downvote? UConn only lost in conference. It's statistically true 😂

We're all presumably Husker fans around here.  I don't see caping up for the Big East as being an entirely popular standpoint.

That's fair I get that. Just wanted a better game for a natty.
