ajb5856 Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 It's safe to say that Nebrasketball recruiting efforts have been elevated greatly during the Tim Miles era. That cannot be denied. Time to see some on court success as a result. Bugeaters1, basketballjones and bigFRED 3 Quote
Minnesota_Husker Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 And we still have one open scholarship as well. 3 guys in this years class were top 200 players, two of which were top 150. Quote
soxnskers Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Make that 3 guys in the top 150. Robin Washut is saying on twitter that he's been told Jordy will be #150 in the updated Rivals rankings Quote
Norm Peterson Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 And we still have one open scholarship as well. 3 guys in this years class were top 200 players, two of which were top 150. All three. hhcmatt Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 This offseason so far Beckner -> Lewis Bakari -> Palmer Hammond -> Jordy Open Scholarship -> Still open The value of any change is dependent on the replacement(s). I'm sure not seeing a net loss here. bigFRED, Neebraska, Fullbacksympathy and 5 others 8 Quote
colhusker Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Can't argue that Dimes, hopefully this is the year that either gets us over the hump or puts in the cusp to do so next year. Quote
49r Posted May 16, 2016 Author Report Posted May 16, 2016 8 members of the current roster will include Rivals 150 kids. Which doesn't include McVeigh (who many say would be there too if he was a US kid). Remember when we were just hoping and praying for ONE? Bugeaters1, Fullbacksympathy, BjoeHusker and 1 other 4 Quote

Norm Peterson Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Quick quiz: Outside of foreign kids, how many of our current players and recruits were NOT members of the Rivals 150? (Two years ago, the answer would have been "All of them.") BjoeHusker 1 Quote
Navin R. Johnson Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 I'm excited also about this group, but now the stars mean nothing. If they all develop like Shavon Shields, a non-150 list player, we are going to be in great shape! Now the work begins to mold these guys into a cohesive unit that plays hard, smart basketball. I think Coach Miles and his staff will do that. Can't wait! Red Don, Norm Peterson, AuroranHusker and 1 other 4 Quote

HuskerFever Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Not too shabby. 16% as a conference... hmm, I'm too lazy to look at prior years as a benchmark. I assume that's a pretty decent percentage considering there's 351 Division I teams and 32 Division I conferences. Quote
Shuttlesworth Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 The fact that Nebrasketball has six (seven by Fran Fraschilla's account of Tai coming out of NZ) 4 stars on its roster is just stupid. Quote

kldm64 Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 The fact that Nebrasketball has six (seven by Fran Fraschilla's account of Tai coming out of NZ) 4 stars on its roster is just stupid. Now the pressure to start winning will get even more turned up. It's one thing to get the players but it's another to be competitive and compete for conference championships. Our roster is looking pretty solid so now it's time to start actually changing the mentality and realize we should be finishing in the top half of the league every year and looking to be conference champions.
