  1. I really hope he pans out because I want the student section to yell Aussie, Ausssie, Aussie and the fans to yell Oi, Oi,Oi when he hits a three. IT WOULD BE... WAIT FOR IT... WAITTTT... EPIC!

  4. We've had open scholarships so I wouldn't expect a bunch of new stuff to flip up. I don't know if it will be real public but at some point we're going to sign a post player Rental or Schapps shot. (that's 5th year and JUCO to those not familiar with the lingo) We're *ONLY* at 450 transfers for this year. Last year, it was 700+. No reason to be in a rush unless it's a guy you really really want. Hopefully that schnapps is zucchini flavored.

  6. Good thing Nebrasketball is taking that foreign trip this off-season as 8 players have left the program, roughly half the roster (5 graduated, 2 left for pro's & 1 transfer). NU's new roster will be given time to mesh on a trip overseas... Just wanted to remind other Husker Hoops fans that the upcoming season is starting sooner than most with the late summer trip to Europe, specifically Spain. From an earlier story in OWH (3/10/15): Nebraska has scheduled an August basketball tour to Spain for exhibition games. Practice is allowed 10 times before the trip. No more than 10 games can be played. The NCAA manual states that schools may take one foreign trip every four years, but not in a season in which games are to be played in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or the preseason NIT. Incoming freshmen and junior college transfers are eligible if they earn three credit hours in the summer before the trip begins.

  7. Yeah, but I liked his tie. Respect for the situation. Tie was good. Tie with a shortsleeve dress shirt? Not so much. Huh? What is wrong with a short sleeve shirt & tie combo? I thought the red shirt with dark tie looked sharp. Oh well, to each their own... Do you happen to have a red swing line stapler too? Don't worry folks, there's only enough room on our roster for one Tai. Evelyn will box his up and we'll never see it again.

  10. Crap, now Bo is going to also not like us for renting players after we beat their butts next year.

  12. It is possible it was the right decision for him, but I sure question it, especially with the growing list of players who already declared. But I will say this, his game may be better suited for the NBA than it is in college today. The NBA has put a stop to thug defense, where as in college, inconsistent officiating is a nice way of looking at the state of officiating.

  14. He really didn't have much more to gain by coming back for his senior season. Plus, his mom got to see his final game as a collegiate. I remember Jordan saying that was one of the reasons he retired the first time was because he wanted his dad to have seen his final game.

  15. lol..that's what all the upset Villanova fans are trying to figure out. We are the last team they want to play. I think secretly, Nova fans are upset about the match-up because they are scared of us. They would rather take a loss on their home court to the likes of Sparty or the Badgers. When they lose to us, its going to crush their RPI! I did notice a number of them were upset that isn't a road win....er game for them. Do we know who we are going to play in the ACC/Big 10 Challange this year yet? Well, if they use the same criteria the Big 10 and Big East use we should get Duke. Counting Wisconsin that would make 3 number 1 seeds from the previous year on next year's slate, then all we'd have to do is schedule Kentucky and make it a clean sweep. lol..looking at how the Villanova fans are pissed about this game...I'm going to love to see the reaction from the Duke fans if they get us. Have we even ever played Duke? Not in basketball... and, only once in football [in the '55 Orange Bowl]. Women's hoops beat 'em this past season in their B1G/ACC event at PBA!

  17. Mr. Barfknecht in OWH mentions this morning that signs are still pointing toward TP turning pro, but that everyone involved is still talking and weighing options. A difficult decision to make under normal circumstances. Good luck to him.

The decision of TP is still pending. Can we surprise some people with one additional signing??? I think there is going to be some shock and awe occurring in the near future.

  19. Maybe sour grapes? T. Smith could play a bit. Every play-by-play guy raved about his potential as well. If he's not mature enough to except a role for his team then good bye, but he could play a bit.

  20. I think it is a great opportunity... Win/Win situation for us.... feels like an Andrew White 25 point game

  22. From an April 11, 2015, article: Benson had a number coaches sitting courtside keeping tabs on his progress. Following a 55-42 win over Team Felton, Benson listed offers from DePaul, Penn State, Oregon State, Indiana, Kansas State, Nebraska, Northwestern and Illinois. He plans to get out and see some schools for unofficial visits during May.

  23. I do think the players ears perk up when he speaks. They most certainly respect him as a coach. We couldn't say the same about our former baseball coach.

  24. Darren was lucky enough to be coached by some of the best in the games. I think he does a very good of job patting and chewing butts at the right time and to the right guys. I know I would run though a brick wall for him if I played for him.

  27. Great get. Great ball skills for his height, and looks like he can shoot it. Our recruiting class for next year (White, Morrow, Watson, Jacobson, McVeigh) is looking really, really solid. I'm not as adamant as some about needing a super big dude on the roster. I think we're forgetting that both Morrow and Jacobson are true power forwards (Jacobson can shoot it too). That leaves White, Watson, and McVeigh filling out our outside shooting needs. Looks to me like there really wasn't any room for Agau, and rightfully so. I wouldn't take him over Jacobson, and Morrow would eat his lunch and his minutes immediately. Again, great get. I think this kid will be a very solid contributor. I expect Hammond to make a huge jump his sophomore year. I've seen enough from his limited minutes to know he is most definitely a D1 prospect. He has a very high on-ball shot blocking IQ, and he's plenty athletic. He just needs some meat on the bones. We'll roll out a complete team next year.

  29. I will be pleasantly surprised if he ends up being as solid as Tarin was as a freshman. Hope you're right but I don't have a warm and fuzzy feeling about this signing.

Wasn't a great finisher, wasn't a great shooter, wasn't great at anything. I was not disappointed at all that he left. Was completely ambivalent. Guys like him are a dime a dozen. Very easily replaced IMO. Not a very good stat line for an offensively starved club. 11 Smith, Tarin 31 3 17.6 .445 .333 .605 1.6 0.7 18 9 4.5

  31. Smith's really getting underrated by some. He wasn't going to be an all-B1G player or anything, but he has the potential to be a solid starter. I wish he played a little more at Tai's and Benny's expense last year.

If Evelyn can bring a similar amount of athleticism I'll be happy. I wish Evelyn had Tarin's athleticism.
