  1. Who the hell wouldn't give you extra time to take a test after your grandpa died? That seems pretty heartless. Heartless? Law school? Seems about right.

Yes, I agree Norm. While the Final Four isn't out of the question, the Sweet 16 may be the best we can hope for with such a young team.

  3. Careful Norm you're going to get us all excited about this team again!!!! and wouldn't that be great. By the way I'm trying to get my # of posts up so everyone just realizes that I'm not a troll, just not too smart.

Hmmm. So, you're thinking if he's taking off with Kenya, that leaves only Molinari and Miles to man the fort. And, with two recruits in town, does that give them enough hands on deck (mixing military metaphors) to cover all their bases (and now a sports metaphor) with the recruits that are here? Good question. Maybe Chris and Kenya were flying out early on the dedicated recruiting jet with plans on flying back by early this evening in time for dinner with the recruits. I have to imagine this trip was planned and not just spur of the moment -- hey, things aren't going well with the recruits in town so let's head off to Virginia and see if we can scare up any talent back there -- kind of thing. Norm, get your butt down the Hendricks and help them out....your boy Edwards is down there...

    Banquet

The Huskers held their annual year end banquet tonight doling out awards both academically and on the court. Academically we have some very smart players that suit up for us. I can't remember all their academic awards but I think everyone of them was honored for their work in the classroom! Coach is getting more and more comfortable speaking to banquet goers as the years pass. She thanked Shimmy G/M for her years here and announced she had signed with Florida as the top assistant. She spoke highly of the 4 seniors. Didn't say much about the upcoming year as I don't think she wanted to take away from what these seniors meant to the program. Tee and Hailie both spoke on behalf of the seniors. Awards were; Offensive MVP - Rachel Defensive MVP - Tear'a Rebounding Award - Brandi Teammate Award - Emily Wood Husker Award - Emily Cady

  8. This is why more NCAA tourney games should be played in PBA in the future. People here go, even if the Huskers aren't in it. Looks good on television.

Swan, it's basically a list of the the best players in the western part of metro Detroit comprised of all class levels. It's still a pretty nice accomplishment being first team. I think I only made it to honorable mention

    Gavitt Tipoff Games - 2015

Heh. "The banks of the Passaic River were stained red that day! As the airliners landing at Newark airport hovered breathlessly in the smoggy sky above the Meadowlands, it seemed the coxswain's voice could be heard as far away as Secaucus..."

Yeah I'm not sure Rutgers & Seton Hall even know the other has a basketball program. And 'Nova fans can't find State College on a map ... nor would they want to. But when Rutgers and Seton Hall knock heads in crew, look out. They row for blood that day.

  17. I'm just, y'know, thinking about probable starting lineups for us next year, and I think we better be cautiously optimistic about our prospects because we'll be a pretty young team still. PG Glynn Watson, Fr. (Rivals 4-star) SG Kenny Williams, Fr. (Rivals 4-star) SF Andrew White III, Jr. (Rivals 4-star) PF Shavon Shields, Sr. (Rivals 3-star and Academic All-American) OR Ed Morrow, Fr. (Rivals 4-star) C Mike Edwards, Fr. (Rivals 3-star, soon to be 4-star) OR probably Diamond Stone (Rivals 5-star) if he decommits from Maryland. I'd just, y'know, urge people to take it easy on the expectations. That's a lot of stars, but it's a lot of youth as well.

Maybe it's this kid ... https://rivals.yahoo.com/basketballrecruiting/basketball/recruiting/player-Kenny-Williams-144705 This kid is from VA and is one of the kids granted a release b/c of the VCU coaching change. If this is the kid they're going to see, it would be a hell of a coup to land him at this point. Rivals top 100 shooting guard, 4-star prospect, at a time where that would be a serious area of need for us and we have the space ...

  19. There was a tweet about a trio of recruits in the Virginia area getting letter of intent releases because of coaching changes. Alex Kline of recruit scoop. Have no idea if this is what we are after but thought I would mention.

  20. From an older article Floor general St. Joseph sophomore point guard Glynn Watson, Demetri McCamey’s younger brother, was moved up to the Wolves’ 17U team for this weekend’s tournament in Dallas. Watson was one of the star attractions on the 16U team this spring. ‘‘He’s the best point guard we’ve had in a long, long time,’’ Mullins said. ‘‘And every point guard we have had has started in college as a freshman — that is, in the history of the Wolves.’’ The entire Big Ten is recruiting Watson, who was 5-8 last year and has grown to 5-11. Purdue offered a scholarship last year and has been on him the hardest. ‘‘He’s as good as any point guard that we’ve played against this year or seen play at any age group,’’ Mullins said. ‘‘Being Demetri’s little brother, I’m sure he will get bigger and stronger. That’s what everyone is waiting to see.’’

  24. A bit analogous to KSU vs KU except the weather is a little nicer and a bit more to do in Scottsdale than the Little Apple. Way more sheep in Manhattan though if you like them.

  25. That's an interesting thought. It is one advantage that I had living in Nebraska during my formative years, in not having the distraction of pro sports to interfere with my growing love of the Huskers. Of course, it brings up a question: would I have become the rabid women's sports fan that I am if I had not gone to a few WBB and VB games with my grandparents and family in the years 1996-1999?

  26. I think schools should adopt a sports major. Let these kids major in what they're interested in. Classes about dealing with the press, money management, etc.

As they guy who coached against him... 1. I figured he would dominate the game, however foul trouble hindered him from doing that 2. Very good athleticism but defensively he jumps on most if not all pump fakes. 3. He PROBABLY isn't ready to play major minutes or start for us now or even next year. However, everything I have heard tells me thay he is an incredibly hard worker and I believe that he very well could be an impact player for us by yesr 2 or 3. Just my 2 cents

  31. I would hate to see the women's game become more like the men's game. Rather than try to force that to happen, why don't they put more marketing into attracting more women and girls to the games, and university students? I would think that would be your target demo. Most of that needs to be done at the university level with a concerted effort from the athletic department. I'm a Husker fan and I support all Husker sports. Some I support more than others and women's basketball is one that I really enjoy to watch.

  32. Wear those colors proudly, Terran. You honored your mom through your efforts on and off the court, and I know you will honor her memory going forward. You no doubt enriched her life through your accomplishments. There is no better accomplishment than simply being a devoted son. Husker fans everywhere are with you and yours during this time.
