I sure hope this game sells out. There are still tickets available on huskers.com. I know it's a late game on a week night, but this team deserves an arena packed to the gills (something that has only happened 1-2 times this year). My wife is 39.5 weeks pregnant, or else I would be there! Go Big Red!

This game feels like the season.  The one that you must have if you want a chance.  A win and the Huskers are at 5-6 with a remaining favorable schedule.

 

I still remember 2006 Texas Tech.  That was the one we needed to setup for a strong chance at the NCAA tournment.  With a win we would have been 7-5 in conference.  Then there was that A&M game in 2009.  With a win 7-6.  Then 2011 Kansas State.  With a win 7-6.  All were home games...

The normal Thing for Nebrasketball would be to eff this game up. I hope we can get past this stuff and pull out a W against the Illini.

 

This.  I was shocked when I looked at how poorly Illinois was doing, especially after getting those two conference wins early.  But these guys have talent and are pretty athletic. 

 

It's going to take a well-executed game for NU to win this.  If it's the best crowd of the season, I think that definitely can push NU over the top.  But Illinois I think is better than their record. 

 

Be there and be loud. If your wife hasn't had her baby, you should be there Actuary ;)

Mizzou 2008. That loss might have kept that team from the dance. I watched that one with nuled2dance. Ask him about it. I was visibly angry during that game. That doesn't happen very often

Thanks for bringing that up lol

I remember us standing their stunned for 5 minutes not saying a word. We then walked out visibly disgusted just saying......when will it be our year. That loss hurt so bad that was our 20-13 team.....7-9 conference record still stings.

I just remember yelling for someone, anyone, to take the game seriously. Nobody seemed to. There was no energy in the building or from the team for what should have been the biggest game in a decade. I was sooooooo frustrated...

I will say this first, Nebraska has often played spoiler when other teams have started to make runs (see Iowa last year).  We are usually the 11th or 10th place team that no on takes seriously.  In other words, we can't take Illinois lightly.

 

This game is our season.  We have somehow scratched and clawed and held on for a very long time.  This team just won't go quietly in the night and they keep finding a way to win ugly.

 

Win this game and then we move on to the next.  Lose and our whole world collapses.  

 

I think we are the better team but that doesn't mean we will win.

 

Winning the Northwestern game didn't make our season, it just kept it on life support.  

 

It is easy to play the what if game and say what if we win a bunch a games.  But now we got a road win, it is put up or shutup time.

Also you would have a good excuse to leave at the under 5 time out.

I am a longtime diehard Nebrasketball fan, what do you expect of me.

 

I have seen our team climb into bubble consideration time and time again and piddle it away, usually against inferior competition.  

 

If we lose at home, to Illinois, our bubble is probably popped.
