4-6 with three of four at home (Illinois, Penn State, Purdue).

Go 3-1 and you're sitting at 7-7, on the NCAA bubble and a near lock for the NIT, because:

Last four ALL winnable (except possibly at Indiana):

At Illinois

Northwestern

At Indiana

Wisconsin

You go 3-1 next four (protect home court) and you're 7-7, needing ONE win for the NIT and THREE for the NCAA, or TWO for a chance at the NCAA with two wins in the Big 10 Tournament.

Let's dream.

Perseverance is the key for NU. As are Petteway & Pitchford knockin' down B1G shots w/ Shields doin' a little bit of everything; when this team can D up teams inside better, it can win nearly every game from here on out.

Dare to dream, Big Red, dare to dream!!

horse/cart :)

I'm taking it 1 game at a time. This team has talent to compete with anyone at home but once they leave PBA a strange curse seems to follow. Savor the wins and hope for lots more to follow.

I say we just do it. Schedule sets up way too nice. Time to get on another roll. Or are we still on one? Did we play a game at Michigan the other night?

And, right now, Mythagain is gettin' smoked at Iowa (52-36 at 15:42 left to go)... as NU fans can attest, teams in this league usually play MUCH, MUCH better in the comfy confines of their home court.

4-2 in the last 6 games with 5 very winnable games left in our final 8.

crap. Voted this one down on accident.

I'll help ya out there w/ +1[/size]
Thanks

One thing I will say is that Illinois has trap game written all over it.

We need the fans at PBA to show up big for this one.  Every home game from here on out is absolutely critical.

Especially considering 5 of the final 8 regular season games are @ the Vault.

Big win...need to handle home the rest I the way and find one more road win maybe somewhere

If we win the rest of our home games and get to .500 in league play I don't think there's any way we aren't dancing.

I think it would take 10-8 or 9-9 +2 in the Big 10 Tourney for us to dance, just because we're Nebraska and we won't have a "quality" road win unless we steal one at Indiana or Minnesota.

The good news is 8-10 gets us in the NIT and if we just go 4-5 the last nine, we're in that.

I would think we would still need to win 1-2 games in the Big Ten tourny. But I'll be happy if we are even in the discussion. NIT I thought this year would be a nice step forward.

Agree. NIT was the realistic and needed expectation for this year. At this point, I would say the NIT is a must for this season to be called "Successful," just based on where we're at after 10 and with the toughest stretch out of the way. Get in the NIT and this season is a RESOUNDING success.

yep, we need to beat these perceived "weak" teams at home.  Each of these is a "trap" game though b/c our opponents are looking at us as a winnable road game.  So we need to keep the intensity & get these wins.  10 wins is possible.  But this stretch of 3 out of our next 4 games at home against the bottom quarter of the league is huge (keep in mind we're in the bottom quarter as well).  So none of these are gimmies.

We are a scoring big & another creating guard away from being really good.  If could somehow get Trey Dickerson & Willie Atwood, NCAA's would almost be a lock for next year.

I'm not even going to go there just for my own sanity. We just smacked by like 40 points by a good, but not great team. I 'm just enjoying the baby steps for the moment and hoping that these little pieces bring the entire puzzle together in like 2 years

The Big 10 probably gets 5 teams in the NCAA.  Possibly 6 but the zero separation in conference won't help.

Have to beat Illinois at home.  That game is more important than @Michigan State.  A loss to Illinois does a lot more damage than @Michigan State.

What I've been looking for was splitting the four after Indiana.  Specifically winning @Northwestern and the Illinois home game.  So far so good.

5-7 entering the last week of February with two very winnable home games would be a great spot for the team.

Protect home court the rest of the way and the Huskers finish .500 in conference.
