Just wondering did anyone see Creighton's game last Friday (or the one before)?  How did the teams that beat them compare to us?  Do we stand a chance this year?  I'm going to be in Nashville the rest of the week so missing the game Wednesday night but will be back in time to watch the Creighton game on TV.

Those teams are waaay better than us.  Nebraska sucks at basketball and we are delusional as fans.  Creighton will curb stop the Huskers and show them that they are truly the only game in the state.  Creighton has a three-time All American on their team and they are big time now that they have found their rightful place in the Big East (which they will dominate like it was the MVC).

We might as well tear down our new arena (because it sucks compared to the CenturyLink palace) and fold our athletic department because nobody likes Nebraska and our fans are dumb.

We lose by whatever margin Doug McDermott wants it to be.

Being that it's in Omaha it will be tough to win because I'm sure they will allow McDermott to get away with more than he was able to this past weekend.  It was kind of funny to see a few calls go against him because he makes it appear that every single call against him is a bad call.  Like the past 10 Creighton teams....they live and die by the three.  They have zero inside presence and outside of Brooks very little athleticism...but I'm not sure if we can exploit that or not.  SDSU simply just out athleted them.  Shields and Smith potentially could at this point...but I'm not 100 percent on that because I feel like we have seen a different Husker team each and every game.  If Creighton is off and not hitting their shots we very well could beat them....if they are on like they usually are vs us at the Clink then we will probably lose by a dozen.

We have far better athletes than they do.  But they can shoot the ball.  Be very tough to win given the importance they put on the game and being an experienced team that knows what the game is about.

As for them, I noticed they continue to flop a lot.  The offensive flop where a guy acts like he get mugged when there is little or not contact.  Pretty pathetic to watch.

In a side note it is going to so much fun to watch the portion of the fan base that thinks they are better than everyone else reeling when Doug is gone next year.  Crappy coach, poor recruiters of athletes, no All-American to hide the weakness is going to be fun.  It makes me smile thinking of Double Douche/Huskerhoopsfan/Creightonfan going through misery.

Man would it be sweet to beat them this year when they are actually solid.

Well, y'know, they are pretty soft.  :P

Let's beat Miami first and then worry about this game. CU will mean nothing if we can't protect our home court against a very plain jane team. With my coach speak out of the way :), I'll put in my two cents. We win the Creighton game by 5. Why? Ray Gallegos gets hot and hits five three's. Book it.

I have it recorded for the historians to speak of years from now!

It's funny how some of the Creightonians, over on their board, are complaining about player rotations and lack of player development by their coaches.  And then someone else will come on and say, nope, it's not lack of development because these guys are playing as well as they can -- the problem is our talent level isn't any good to begin with.

Sure, they probably still beat us.  This year.  But it's funny seeing some of the most obnoxious members of the Creighton fan base having a little tizzy about their record over the last couple of games.  Give 'em props, though, they did beat ASU by nearly 30 points.

Of course, ASU also lost to Miami by double digits, so I'm thinking maybe ASU isn't quite as good as they thought they'd be and their coach is going to be sitting on a bit of a heated seat.  I'm guessing it's NCAAs or bust for Sendek with an NBA PG on his roster.

Putting up 53 points on George Washington will do that to a team with the sort of expectations that they have.

Barring tragedy they're going to be a NCAA tournament team...this is the sort of stuff that turns them into a 7-10 seed instead of a 6+ seed.  We were in quite a tizzy after losing a couple of games with far fewer expectations so I can only imagine.

Well, technically this is the Creighton scouting thread.  Hopefully the team is better about taking one game at a time than we are ;)

At least he has all that money from the best book ever written. "Where the Wild Things Are" ;)

If they are getting a bit tizzy over a few losses to 1 good team and 1 mediocre team then they are in for a rude awakening over the next few years.

Just so you all know, here's how some Creighton fans look at this game:

Here's the money quote:  "This (Nebraska/Creighton) is the one game every year I get queasy over. In fact, right now, I am stomach sick thinking about the tension. I have tickets to the game and am making a weekend out of it with a drive to Omaha. The apprehension and anxiety that fills me when this game tips-off is always difficult to handle."

My new name for CU is Delusional U...their comments about us are REDICULOUS! One guy actually said that its a "huge no-win situation " for CU when they play us, and an "everything to gain" situation for Nebraska. There is so much laughable material they put out there about us. All the more reason to despise the Jays.

It will be awfully fun to make Creighton our bitch for the next ten years.

I believe this is a 40 minute game. The smart money is on Creighton to win by 5-8 points, but I believe we have a 40% chance at winning this year.

Hope they're reading this and will quote me over on the Creighton MB. Always enjoy reading my stuff over there the last eight years.

Easy Dave.  They have better recruiting going on there than us.  Just ask this WestOJay idiot.  Making fellow West Omaha folks like myself look like idiots in the process it so ridiculous.

Ok lets be honest.  I've thought about this long and hard

2 things stand out to me regarding this game on Sunday

1.  They have no one that will be able to handle Smith down low.  Smith will finish with another Double Double

2.  This one I have sat back and really thought about.  Other than Mcdermott... who on their team would you take above our top 7 players?

You can make a case for Wragge, but we have Rey and he is just as good from behind the arc

Maybe Gibbs

Maybe Chapman

Other than that I see our top 7 players better than everyone on their team other than McDermott

What say you?

I see the following 7 players better than Creighton's roster other than Mcdermott

Webster

Pitchford

Petteway

Shields

Rey G.

Biggs

Smith

CU has far and away the best player on the floor, unless there are drastic differences everywhere else on the floor, I'll take the team with the best player, most of the time, especially when they're at home.

Just an FYI... I just wanted to be like some of their smart posters on their board.  It is laughable what some of them say, just like it is idiotic for me to say what I said

A Nebraska fan at the bar asks his friend if he’d like to hear a funny CU joke.

This causes a blue fan a couple of stools down to tap his friends on the shoulders, and they walk down to where the Nebraska fans are sitting.

“Hey, I’m a CU fan, and my sweater vest tag says M. My pal here is also a CU fan and his sweater vest tag says L. And Biff here is a CU fan and his sweater vest tag says XL – that’s so big it needs two letters! Two!

“So are you sure you still want to tell that CU joke?”

The Nebraska fan looks at the three CU fans and shrugs his shoulders. “Not if I have to explain the punch line three different times.”

Yeah we are the delusional ones yet before the year they were talking about how their move to the BIg East could springboard them into becoming a top 10 program.

I will be shocked if we win this one considering it's our first road game with a young inexperienced team.  But I look forward to the upcoming years of all Mcdermott recruits minus his son.  I will give it 1 month next year before they start calling for his head.
