Yeah, um.  About Tommie Frazier and coaching ...

 

It's a little more than amusing to see Tommie Frazier making critical comments about a head coach not putting his players in position to be successful (ahem, Doane Tigers, ahem).

 

I'm not getting into the debate about Pelini.   He might be failing as a head coach or doing as well as could be expected under the circumstances.  I don't know which is right.  But I know that as bad as people think he might be, he's still light years ahead of Tommie Frazier in the head coaching department.  Tommie sucked out loud in his head coaching stint in Crete.

Just to bring this thread back to a basketball theme, I am pondering whether Bo or Danny Nee would win the all time Nebraska F-Bomb title in a one on one shout out. The champion could then compete for

I do think Bo was in the right to respond to Tommy's comments.  I think Tommy was partially in the wrong.  I am sure Tommy is not the only one feeling that way after the UCLA game, and probably many others were.  Tom Osborne?  Former Players?  Our AD?  I am sure a lot of people felt that way, and I do too, but to come out and say those things on Twitter will just cause problems and that is something we do not need more of right now.  Just support the athletes and what ever happens happens at the end of the year, but if I was a former player, I would not of called out the current coach.

As long as we're talking about football, what does everyone think about Chris Spielman's criticism of the defensive scheme of playing man in the secondary and not blitzing?

 

If it's that elementary of a notion (man coverage means you need to blitz) I can't believe we didn't do it.  Surely our defensive coaches know more about scheming than the color guy on the broadcast.

That was being recorded on the broadcast line/signal/mic/whatever.  Someone at the Husker Sports Network had to have that tape.  The universe of people who could have gotten their hands on that and leaked it is very small.  Ho sh!t!  That's gonna hit the fan.

Ouch.  I think he would have an easier time explaining getting ticketed in a Lincoln park for sitting in a car with a girl who happens to be naked from the waist up than unleashing an f bomb tirade on the people who pay your salary. 

 

I think someone will need a whiskey/Nyquil chaser tonight.....

I understand his rant on fair weather Nebraska fans and those that leave the games early.  Anyone who has been on this board for any length of time whatsoever can understand his rant.  Was the rant over the top, certainly.  Was he right, absolutely.  Was he right about the majority of the OWH reporters, no.  There is only one that deserves that blast.
