-Vucetic- He is the biggest mystery of this team. 66% chance he stays.

-Parker- Probably will hang around for next season to see what his role is. 70% chance he stays.

-Rivers- I wouldn't think he leaves.  90% chance he stays.

-Shields- Please god no. 98% he stays.

-Gallegos- no. 99% he stays.

I assume everyone will want to hang around next year to play in the new arena and see how the 6+ new players fit in. Could easily be the first year in a while where no scholarship players leave.

Your thoughts?

sergej has about a 75% chance of leaving.

Parker I would say is 25%

I think Parker and Sergej's percentages are closer given that Parker will have a lot more competition at his position next year than Sergej will.

Unless there's a lot more to Vooch's story about him not playing this year, I'm 90% sure he will leave.

Parker won't leave, in my opinion. And I also think he's going to be a lot better than you guys probably think. You're also overrating Biggs ability a bit, and Tai Webster is such an unknown I refrain from assuming anything about him.

Also, I'd be willing to bet Trevor Menke loses his scholarship. He was well aware of this when he received it.

First, Trevor Menke should never be discussed as a relevant factor when the issue of scholarships comes up. He knows that his scholarship is only a placeholder, renewable ONLY in the event that a new scholarship player entering the program doesn't need it. As long as we're under 13, Menke has his scholarship. The second someone commits for that 13th spot, his scholarship won't be renewed.

I'm still stunned at how many fans really like Benny Parker, feel he's a legitimate B1G player and believe he'll play over guys like Webster and Hawkins. I don't see any chance that Benny Parker plays much next year and can't fathom that he'll still be on the team in 2014-2015.

The guy has poor handles, can't shoot, has no confidence, plays intimidated, is an average passer, can't drive to the basket, and is 3 inches shorter than the next-shortest player in the B1G.

For those who really like him, what do you believe he does well? The only thing I've seen is that he plays pretty good defense. He's short but very quick and moves well on defense. As an offensive player, he's a disaster.

He is a TRUE FRESHMAN... He was forced into the lineup this year.  A redshirt year this year would of probably done him well, but he was forced into the lineup.  I think he'll be fine.  Time will tell.  Look at Ray Gallegos, and Brandon Ubel.....

The fact that he's a true freshman doesn't mean that an evaluation of his future prospects is invalid. Yes, he'll improve, but his ceiling appears to be pretty low. Guys like Hawkins and Webster have a much more impressive skill set with much better size.

If Parker plays a lot next year, then that doesn't say very good things about Webster and Hawkins IMO.

I believe Benny would be much better off at a lower-tier program like UNO or somewhere similar. Is he good enough to warrant taking up one of 13 scholarship for the next three years? No way in hell in my opinion, but that's just my opinion. I don't see a future for Benny Parker in Lincoln. He's too limited.

You can say, "he's only a true freshman!" but what about Shavon Shields? What about Mike Gesell? The list goes on. Talented freshmen are capable of playing at a high level in this Conference. Parker isn't that type of talent.

+1.  I hope Vucetic does stay since many big guys can develop and maybe redshirt him, but he is older already as he turned 20 in December.  Ubel is 21 now.  Miles likes to switch on screens with our gaurds and this works with similar sized players, until parker has to switch and then a anyone taller than than 6' 2" is getting a shot off.

I don't see anyone leaving.

I like Parker.  He is pretty good on the defensive end and quick.  He could turn into a pretty good role player under Miles.  Won't necessarily be a starter but could be a great change-up guy off the bench.

It will be a mistake if Miles runs anyone off unless he fills that spot with a 5*

I hope Vooch stays.  I hope if he works hard to get bigger and develop some quickness he can contribute more next year and maybe make a jump his Junior, Senior year like Gallegos did.  I see him being a fan favorite.  I can hear the Pinnacle roaring Vooooooooooch when he comes into games or scores a bucket.  If Miles has been totally upfront with the kid, which I'm sure he has, then he knows what the long term plan is.

I don't think he'll necessarily play over those guys, but having a guy like Benny coming off your bench, even for only 5 minutes a game can go a long way over the course of the season.  The game will slow down for him as he matures.  Just because he doesn't start doesn't mean he can't be an important player on the team.  I don't know whether he'll be here TWO years from now, I do think he'll be here next year.

I believe that Benny will stay. I just feel like he really likes it here and is a big part of the team aspect. For example look at the Iowa game, a guy who easily could have been sitting on the bench all butt hurt, but he was the first one out there at every timeout congratulating his teammates and loving the moment being part of a team

Like I said, Benny is likely around a 70% chance of staying. Even if he was considering transferring to a small school, he would likely wait until after next season. -new arena, new players, new playing style. He will want to see how he fits in and see how much he can improve.

In my opinion though, I don't see Parker improving much. My biggest problem with him is that he is not a true point guard. He can't penetrate and struggles to dribble with his left hand. Purdue was literally not guarding Parker when we played them. That is never a good sign. I would feel a lot better about his chances of improving if he was 6'2.

Could he be a nice bench player by the time he is a junior? Possibly. If he wants to be starter though, I think he has to transfer to a smaller school at some point.

Hopefully he proves us all wrong, but I don't see it.

Correct, Hooper - I didn't mean to imply that he should lose his scholarship or that he isn't worthy of it.  I meant what you said, in the event a scholarship player is recruited, and a scholarship is needed, he probably won't have his renewed.  Sorry for the confusion.

In giving him those 5 minutes, you just took 5 minutes of playing time away from Nate Hawkins, Tai Webster or someone else. Assuming the newcomers pan out (not guaranteed, I know), we'll have very good depth at the guard spots next year without Benny Parker. With Biggs, Gallegos, Webster and Hawkins, I don't see where 5 minutes per game should be going to Parker. Just my opinion.
