He probably has a better shot to play at Penn State. Look at it this way...how likely would he have been to start or get significant minutes here based on who we are bringing in? He'd probably have been no better than the 4th option for 2 wing spots. I'm assuming Fred was just honest with him about his likely role and he decided to seek out more PT.

I have no idea what Penn State's situation is, but I can't imagine he was truly promised starting time, or else they're gonna be real bad next year.

Nick Kern and Zach Hicks are both similar in stature to Eli but they are tenacious defenders and they play exactly the way Mike Rhoades wants to play. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Eli in the portal again next year.

Ya he is more of a defensive coach which makes it even more puzzling.

I don't imagine they promised him anything, but I'm guessing he was told (true or not) they expect him to get significant minutes. I doubt Fred would go that far because he is clearly trying to recruit over everyone except Brice, Gary, and maybe Mast. I do think they will be bad next year though.

Yeah, "loosely related" made me chuckle. It's semi-pro ball.

Yes it is, but still run by universities. So this move swings the power pendulum back toward the schools a bit. Honestly, maybe a bit more toward the non-blue bloods. Since they sign a lot of players that believe they are going to be one and done, and barely do the student part of student athlete.

1890 can be Nebraska's salvation, tbh.

certainly feels like all 3 are going to end up at the same school, or at least Fidler/Hepburn. Fidler delaying his commitment, Kyle taking a long time and a lot of visits, Hepburn finally pulling the trigger on what's been rumored for a couple years now.

IT’S EITHER GREAT NEWS OR THEY ARE ALL GOING TO CREIGHTON THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN. PREPARE TO GET YOUR HEARTS RIPPED OUT.

We had a great season, lot of good positive vibes and momentum.. this just seems right, I’m ready to be hurt again

Would Creighton or Michigan State be worse? at least with Creighton we get it over with early in the season and don't have to watch them again. Michigan State we'll be competing with in standings all year long.

If Frankie and Chucky both play at UNO next year they might win a tournament game before we do

Feels like 'making less NIL combined than Andrew Morgan' is not the play here

Rationally.. MSU, but in my heart creighton, as yet again we have a chance to get some home grown talent that’s prospered elsewhere back at NU, and yet again they spurned, and this time it’s 3 players that would make a big time difference for us
