Either way, I would assume ISU gets a later game in Omaha being further west than the east coast sites.  So we’d be the game before them I’d assume.  Which could be an early afternoon or late evening.  *If in Omaha.

My brain is telling me that typically the one seed gets the earlier of the two game session.  Could be a made up thing in my mind though.

The game times are determined by the television partners. They generally space out the top teams in terms of potential audience in order to max out ratings throughout the day.

For example, in the 2023 tournament, both No. 1 Kansas and No. 1 Alabama played in the 2-5 p.m. ET window on Thursday, while No. 1 Houston played after 9 p.m. that night. Kansas played the first game of that two-game session, but Alabama played the second. Houston also played the final game of its session.

The fourth No. 1, Purdue, played at 6:50 p.m. on Friday, the first game of the session. In other words, the 2023 top seeds:

1. Kansas played the first game in an afternoon session.

1. Alabama played the second game in an afternoon session.

1. Purdue played the first game in an evening session.

1. Houston played the second game in an evening session.

They were 6-17 at one point.  Would have been cool story.  That was tough to watch.

Hitch into the Long Beach State wagon. Similar story. Went on a ~6 win run to close out the season. And on top of that, their coach has already been fired but still coaching.

One game out of 30+

And ISU only has one loss out side of Q1 in those 30+ games. NC has 4. ISU has passed NC in most metrics, even BPI that includes moon phases and the farmer’s almanac. It’s only non-con SOS where they’re behind them. I just really think they did enough to get the one seed, and yesterday made it so with an exclamation point.

All good points but they are Iowa St and Carolina is Carolina.
