Not sure how the FIBA press conferences work with respect to who joins the coach to take media questions but it was Kesei for Japan.  Markkenen didn't join for Finland so assume team picks who attends instead of FIBA request.  Interesting if Japan picks Kesei to do it.  I guess they don't want the big white American center to do it and that makes sense.  But the little point guard had a monster 4th quarter too.  English questions early but last 1/2 of Japan press conference in Japanese so good luck with that.

Still can't believe how few minutes he got against Germany and only 5 in first half today.  Hope he gets more against Australia.

There was a study that came out a few years back that concluded that there is no such thing as "getting hot," or, "being on a heater."

I just want to point to KT every time.

Having played hoops competitively in intercollegiate basketball, small college level, I can personally attest to "getting hot" is a real phenomena from my own shooting experience. Keisei takes that 'stat' to another level, and I think he might be able to use his unique skill to carve out a very, very nice professional career, too.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Keisei is fouled on most of his 3-pointers?

He might have been fouled on the last layup.  Sorry, I didn't see fouls on the 3 point shots.  I do need new glasses, though...

Keisei and team Japan will exit the FIBA tournament as they are down to Australia by about 20.

Didn’t wake up early enough to watch this one, but Keisei’s success on Sunday earned him about double the PT he was getting.  He ended up with about 25+ minutes.

Unfortunately, with a few minutes left, he’s just 4/17 from the floor and 0/10 from deep.  8 Pts, 3 Reb, 2 Asst.

I've heard the country of Kapan is lovely.  I would like to visit there some day.

Australia went on a 24-7 run while Keisei was on the bench in the 2nd quarter to essentially put this game away at half time. On a positive note, time for Keisei to come back to Nebraska.

I'm wrong about this. Apparently there are "classification games" to determine rankings of the team not qualified to win the World Cup

Group F is unfinished.  So Keisei won’t know his next two opponents until tomorrow.  It’ll be 2/3 of the following…

Venezuela, Cabo Verde, and Georgia

Venezuela (Loss to Slovenia and Cabo) plays Georgia (Win Cabo, Loss Slovenia)

Cabo Verde (Win Venezuela, Loss Georgia) plays Slovenia (2-0)
