I think the hold up is getting him enrolled and just making sure that gets done and goes through before they announce anything official. Not that there would be a Roburt Sallie type snag but just easier to wait to make sure rather than announcing and then having to say nevermind...

That might have been close to true at some point but for whatever reason it's not happening.

Not sure when he'll announce where he's going but today is going to come and go with him not enrolling at UNL.

Oh well. Would have liked to land him but not landing him means we have more leeway with the '17 cycle and makes it more likely that we keep our core of young players intact. Paul White would have been competing with Morrow, Jacobson, and Horne for playing time which means we would more than likely lose one. That chance decreases if he White decides to go elsewhere.

Dimes must know. I was more than optimistic with the info I heard, but dimes' scenario could be correct and the whole thing could've fallen through. Definite answer one way or the other by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Just wondering if he's here already and no official announcement or if he's not here and not coming. Maybe told staff he was coming, began doing the enrollment paperwork and never followed through? Does seem fishy and definitely something that fell through if it doesn't happen because it was supposed to happen.

Interesting...our decision? Would have liked to have him..but he's not really at a position of need.  Either way...it looks like for the fifth straight year Miles will fail to fill out the roster.

Will be interesting to see how and why this went south, between Saturday and now.  Supposedly he wants to take 4 visits now.  

 

Sorry for the burst of optimism earlier, based on a usually reliable source.  That will teach me; I'll go back to my "realist/cynical until I see it" nature.

I know (apparent) 'rejection' hurts, but maybe Khoock is right that it may be a blessing in disguise and keeps the '17 cycle open (say Thomas Allen ).  White would have had to sit out this year anyway (and I don't see him as being a huge difference-maker next year like Terran was).

 

I think I'll wait and see how this season plays out!

Don't think it was our decision and we can always use a high IQ guy with length and shooting ability.

The biggest question I had was whether this guy physically just needs time to heal up or if he's never going to be 100%. Thus, I'm not going to know how much of a missed opportunity this was until maybe 2017.

Well, if you have specific information, share it.  If you are just looking for a reason to slam Miles, without any actual knowledge of what went down with White, then you are right to keep your mouth shut.

i don't think arop would have ever been more than an 8th or 9th guy, but i would much rather have him on the team than to continue leaving an open spot.

Meh, I trust my source...it was the same source who confirmed White was visiting over the weekend a day before it was actually announced.  Obviously, something changed White's mind or ours the last few days.

It's not guaranteed that we leave Arop's spot open. Have a long ways to go before fall 2017. I believe another 2017 offer was just announced today.
