Bolden hasn't even said anything publically about Nebraska to indicate we are a contender. The article about him brought up an interesting connection, but it is just speculation. I think he is going to be a guy who is out of our league.Either way, we won't lose out on him due to not having a spot. If he wanted to choose Nebraska (a gigantic if), he would have a spot. Bolden hasn't said anything publicly that I'm aware of. He hasn't said publicly that Louisville is a contender and he hasn't said publicly that Michigan is a contender either. So, as of now, I'm not going to let these facts rule us out of the equation. He's not out of our league. He's not out of the equation just yet. Maybe when he finally does speak, and we get some more information, we will learn that Bolden isn't really looking to come here. Who knows? But for now we know that Nebraska has offered him a scholarship. We know that Harriman does have the connected with Bolden's father. And we know that Robin wrote an article with the title: "Huskers among leaders for Aussie standout Bolden". You don't pen that title without Nebraska at least being in the equation. For now.3 points

Creighton Fan, Recruiting is all that matters, and we have landed 3 top 150 guys in the last year, and Gilmore would be our 4th. That is where our positive momentum comes from. Our future is much brighter than Creighton's given our recent recruiting success, better facilities, and better conference.2 points -

Podcast is up in the Official Media Thread now He definitely sounds 100% 'N'! Unable to get to it in the near future: Can anyone give a quick synopsis, please? He liked Lincoln right away, impressed with how "clean" it was. REALLY impressed with PBA. Looks forward to competing in the B1G. Hopes to grow another inch or two. (must not have a whole lot of leg hair yet) Addressed fans' concerns that he has hopped around from school to school during his HS career, but sounded adamant that he is definitely down with the Corn and WILL be signing in November.2 points -

After watching Jonah Bolden's film, it would be hard for me to choose anyone else. He could potentially be a game changer for this program in my opinion, and what are the odds of a player of that caliber having a father who's an ex-roommate and teammate of one of our coaches? Fingers crossed on this one. Bolden is big time.1 point -

I can imagine the pitch now Miles: Leon this is 85,000 soon to above 90,000 people going insane for a meaningless non con game, can you imagine the atmosphere when were undefeated with Michigan State rolling in here and a shot to clinch the division a play Ohio State in the BIG TEN title game. Leon: no coach this is crazy Creighton showed me some lame soccer game and their blueprints for their facilities when i may not even be there anymore, Miles: Now Leon, imagine if you come to NU, 2014 were rolling after a pretty good season NCAA tourney appearance second straight season of sell outs and we play Michigan and Ohio state fresh off of sweet 16 appearances in the first games of the year at Pinnacle Bank Arena...imagine that atmosphere Leon: speechless, nods head commits to NU then and there. Bobcat, your posts are the most humorous I think I've ever read anywhere! After completely failing epically on the NCAA tourney smack, you now go after the due date on the completion of our new training facility and botch that too! (Incidentally it is scheduled to be completed late next spring or early summer, depending on the weather, so it will be there the entire time an incoming freshman will be on the team.) On the whole soccer vs. football deal, the key is in the presentation. Instead of selling the "look how many come out for football games", I suspect that McDermott and crew sell the whole "basketball players are the big men on campus at Creighton" angle. Who knows what works best, and it certainly varies kid to kid, but don't underestimate the idea that a basketball recruit may want to go to a place where basketball (as opposed to football) comes first in the sport minds of the kids on campus. That's very ironic coming from you Tommy considering it was just about a week ago you were spouting off at how delusional Nebraska fans were thinking they could get highly regarded kids to come to play basketball at NU....then of course just a few days later Hammond commits and you go on a tantrum on twitter. For a program that love to dog and say is irrelevant...you sure do talk about NU quite a bit. Back into your hole Tom....or better yet, go tweet some 16 year old kids begging them to come to Creighton. How pathetic.1 point -

Hahahaha. Creighton didn't steal him from Miles. Nebraska backed off of the unranked PF...Probably so they could keep the scholarship open for Hammond, who is ranked by ESPN as a 4-Star and the #22 Center in the country. And in the Rivals150. I think all Husker fans are probably ok with that trade off...Go back to your Creighton site. Seriously? How did what I say make me a Creighton fan. We never backed off of Hanson. He visited here and decided to stay committed to Creighton. We wanted him here, but could not convince him. Hanson is more highly ranked than Leslee smith. Those are the facts.Sorry. I'm on my iPhone and I've seen alot of posts from Creighton Fan, and I thought your post was one of them. I also disagree with you about Hanson. From what I have been told, Nebraska backed off of him, because he isn't a Big Ten caliber player. That's fine. According to what I've been told, Nebraska was high on him at one point, but then backed off because he isn't a Big Ten caliber player. Anyone has the right to believe whatever they want to. Even if its wrong. I mean really, you want everyone to believe that Miles decided not to use the scholarship at all, despite having a shortage of big guys? Even more comical - Hanson isn't a Big 10 player, but Vucetic is? The truth is that Miles even had an in with the Hanson family and thought he would be a Nebraska commit. When Hanson chose Creighton, Miles was pretty shocked as was anyone involved in covering Nebraska recruiting (hence Washut's tweet). Hanson is a great kid with great parents (they traveled to Las Vegas for Creighton's games against Wisconsin and Arizona St last year and hung out with Creighton fans all weekend). I couldn't have been happier with the commit. It was a solid get for you guys, but the point is that Nebraska is still having much greater success in recruiting than creighton is right now. 3 top 150 guys in a year, and Gilmore would be our 4th. Hanson would have been our 3rd or 4th best recruit for 2013, and he was your #1 recruit I'd much rather have gilmore and hammond than Hanson1 point -

For the record, I said that because the team's best player, Sherwood Brown, who was both leading scorer AND leading rebounder, graduated. He was also the team's leader in total minutes played by a large margin. Secondly, I wasn't putting down the schedule at all. In fact, I even went so far as to point out that the exempt tourney you are in is more difficult than the original poster thought. Don't go cherry picking stats to try to save the egg on face. I think you are confusing the Northern Illinois football team with the Northern Illinois basketball team. The basketball team stinks out loud and was 3-13 last season. Nebraska will blow them away and it may well be the easiest game on your entire schedule (along with Western Illinois, SC State, Citadel and Florida Gulf Coast ((Dunk City graduated and the coach left for LA LA land). I count six guaranteed wins. And by "guaranteed", I mean that you win no matter who plays or is injured. the only game you have marked as a "w" that I may disagree with is the one against one of the group of Clemson, Davidson, Georgia, Temple. Temple should be pretty good and Davidson is usually solid. Clemson and Georgia are not that good though. Florida Gulf Coast brings back 4 starters so they will be solid again. If you are going by that standard as a CU fan, then Butler will be awful too as Stevens left. And the "Big East" is really the "mini east" with no Lou, UCONN, Syr, ND and Pitt (the big boys of the Big East). NU has a DAMN good schedule this year and will be tough to find a ton of wins on any given night. Playing Miami, CU, FGC and Cincy on top of the Charleston Classic is a very solid OOC schedule. Its funny how a CU fan will try and down play this schedule but pump their fist when they beat a N. Texas team because they have 1 good player and will make their schedule sound out to be amazing all the time when in reality its average to below average every single year.1 point -

Florida Gulf Coast has 4 of their 5 starters back, so that's a fairly tough opener for Nebrasketball. Not sure who told the fan of the team to the east that "Dunk City graduated"... 5 of the 12 non-conference games are away from PBA, so that also is fairly tough no matter who happen to be the opponents in the Charleston Classic (keep in mind that it's likely that 4 of those 5 games will be against tourney-caliber teams as well). I suspect that 9-3 would be quite the successful non-con record for NU.1 point -

Anyone outside of Nebraska doesn't even know what conference Creighton is in our what other teams are in that conference. I doubt Gilmore wants to take on the pressure of being the next McDermott. Creighton's chance at an NCAA tourney run is going to end after this year, and Nebraska's run will just be starting. There's a much better chance of getting recognized for your play in the BIG 10 than the Fake Big East Creighton Fan, if you want people to agree with you, you are in the wrong place.1 point -

I’ll give you i messed up on the tourney deal, Fair point...and the new facility fair point..i assumed Creighton hadn’t begun construction. BUT... i will refute your point, you can sell him on big man on campus spiel all you want..their still bringing them in for a visit at a soccer game, so you can talk about basketball all they want, this is still occurring at a soccer game, not a world cup game, or a even a friendly..but Creighton vs. UNO...I’m sorry i know globally its very popular, and its slowly surpassing hockey as America's fourth sport.. But in the end NU will bring him in for a visit to a top 15 nationally ranked football game and most kids in America prefer Football over Futbol... and thanks for calling me humorous, all take your backhanded sarcasm as a compliment nonetheless I’ll take it where I can get it. How do you know that Nebraska will be ranked in the top 15 when you bring Gilmore in for a visit? How do you know that the team Nebraska plays that day won't suck royally? Maybe he comes on a day where you are playing one of those non D1 schools like Idaho St? As far as the opponent in the soccer game goes, I don't think it really matters much. He will be seeing a top 5 soccer team play either way. Honestly, who the heck knows what drives these kids. You can't say the kid will want to commit because he went to a football game anymore than I can say he will commit because of what Creighton will offer. I mean, seriously, how many basketball players has Nebraska brought to football games in the past that didn't commit? Every kid is evaluating schools through his own set of criteria. I would say that if they choose a school for football/soccer or any sport other than the sport they actually participate in, I'd be a bit worried. Personally, I'd rather if the visits took place during basketball season so they can see exactly what they will be experiencing, but if you want them to commit during the fall signing period, a school doesn't really have that option. i know from personal experience when i was looking at colleges, how their other sports programs faired made a subtle difference in my choice...ironically Peru State had a terrible basketball team(my second favorite sport) so I was SOL. But the hyperbole about NU being top 15 is all my wishes and was meant for humor; i do believe we will use Football as a tool, as it’s we have along with the new arena, and the Practice Facility. Unless we are going to start recruiting kids like they did in He Got Game or Blue Chips, NU has to use what they have at their disposal. Much like Creighton does, i just feel are assortment of tools will win over Creighton’s, i could be wrong, and ill admit to it when i am.1 point -

For as inexperienced as our team is, this is a damn good schedule. You mix this with the B10 schedule and I'm guessing we have a top 30 schedule in the Nation. The Charleston Classic has some nice teams in it, then you throw in FGCU, Miami, Creighton and Cincy alone and that's tough. Pretty sure I read somewhere that NU has 5 home games vs teams that made the Sweet 16 last year. That alone is pretty crazy.1 point -

Now you are just being silly. Everybody who knows anything about basketball knows about the Big East and certainly high school basketball players do. The conference has its own TV contract and every game will be televised. You're right. I just didn't expect people would argue every single point just because I am a Creighton fan. I guess I overestimated my audience. I guess we'll see. Granted, all americans don't come around everyday, but I see nothing but positive momentum for the Creighton program right now. We have two very talented freshmen bigs that we can build around for several years and, as you well know, are hard to find. A successful year this year could lead to a whole new type of recruit landing at the hilltop. I find it amusing that you say Nebraska has positive momentum despite a pretty abysmal year last year, yet Creighton, who is coming off wins in the NCAA tourney in back to back years and returns essentially every player but one off of last year's roster has negative momentum. I guess we define momentum differently.-1 points -

I should have known that bringing football into the discussion would cause some to lose all control of reason Good. You should totally take him to a women's bowling match (do they call them matches?). If that doesn't cause him to commit on the spot, I don't know what will. Speaking of yawners, that Nebraska-Iowa football game was nonstop action, wasn't it? I was in Vegas at the time siting in a sportsbook waiting for the Creighton-Wisconsin basketball game and they actually turned it off to turn on something more exciting.-2 points
