Report reply throwback 3,377 Posted March 5, 2023 It's insanity that this team finished 16-15 with everything they've gone through. And I think they have a bit more insanity in them, starting Wednesday. Oof. I was having a conversation with my Dad in the early part of the season. I pretty much tell him every year THIS is the year and this is how it happens! I was telling him this is literally the only time in 30+ years I completely counted the Huskers out. Don’t have a chance for even a winning season let alone post season play. Aaaah good times. Oh and fuck Iowa Edited March 5, 2023 by cornfed24-7 Sp BigTate and HuscurAdam 1 1 Quote Share this comment

I predicted 9 conference wins at the start of the season...then foolishly started doubting this team by the time we got to the December predictions. I don't doubt them any more and expect a couple more wins in Chicago. GBR! millerhusker 1 Quote Share this comment
Report reply Norm Peterson 14,129 Posted March 5, 2023 Over .500 (at some point) in the month of March for the first time since when? Two conference regular-season sweeps for the first time since when? Quote Share this comment
Report reply hskr4life 11,038 Posted March 5, 2023 Had the pleasure of driving while this one was happening. But that meant spending my afternoon with Kent P and Jake. There were so many quotes that were great. Two that stick out were a “sit down Fran” I believe or some variation of that late in the game… possibly after Hoibergs charge. The other happened after the game when they were doing a chiropractor ad. Jake said something like “the Iowa fans are hurting” and Kent says “Does a chiropractor help hurt egos?” Lol Silverbacked1, CanadianHusker, HuscurAdam and 1 other 1 3 Quote Share this comment

Pretty crazy That tells me the talent and coaching disparity from top to bottom in this league isn't as far off as many think. We should have beaten Purdue in Lincoln. We will the next time we play them. tcp and Silverbacked1 1 1 Quote Share this comment
Report reply Huskerpapa 8,876 Posted March 5, 2023 Throughout the game I had issues with play of two or three players. Yet at games end, all of the players stepped forward in one way or another. Proud of the effort and giddy withe results. I wonder if Keisei was hurting a bit today? He sort of looked sluggish is the second half. thrasher31 and NUtball 2 Quote Share this comment
Report reply Norm Peterson 14,129 Posted March 5, 2023 Eight players played. Denim Dawson logged 2 minutes and did not score. Everyone else (7 players) scored between 9 and 16 points. I don't think I've ever seen that in a conference game before: Seven guys with at least 9 points and nobody more than 16. Report reply HuskerFever 10,954 Posted March 5, 2023 It's that time of the season. Time for an irrational thought... Regardless of how many wins we get, why don't we just never lose to Creighton, Iowa, and Wisconsin ever again? Report reply throwback 3,377 Posted March 5, 2023 We gave up a combined 44 points in transition and on second chances and still won. Helps a lot to shoot 50%+ from 2 and 3, but that's still nearly impossible. NUtball 1 Quote Share this comment

Report reply Huskerpapa 8,876 Posted March 6, 2023 I am going to say the following; but I do not want it to come across as disrespectful or malicious in any manner, so here goes. With Bando and Gary we were a defense oriented team that played at a slower pace. One could have even said we were a poor shooting team. With the injuries, we adjusted our game and have somehow become a faster tempo team that actually has a well rounded offense that can score in the paint and on the perimeter. All while maintaining the strong team culture, pesky defense and comraderie. Great leadership and coaching adjustments! But still, how does that happen 2/5ths the way through a season with a staff supposedly on the hot seat.
