Report reply AuroranHusker 8,111 Posted October 2, 2015 “Nebraska's focus on player development, solid academics and challenging athletic environment,” said Jeriah Horne on why he picked the Cornhuskers... “Coach Miles gives freshman an opportunity,” said Horne. “Although there is a transition from high school to college, I expect my work ethic, my size, my ability to pass and my versatility to help me make the most of my opportunities as a freshman.” http://ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=3143 Norm Peterson 1 Quote Share this comment

Report reply Silverbacked1 5,541 Posted October 2, 2015 At least Fran didn't give him the kiss of "struggling in your first year or so" that he gave Tai. hhcmatt 1 Quote Share this comment
Report reply AuroranHusker 8,111 Posted October 2, 2015 At least Fran didn't give him the kiss of "struggling in your first year or so" that he gave Tai. How 'bout that Tai being a "top 30 recruit state-side," eh Franny? Silverbacked1 1 Quote Share this comment
Report reply Silverbacked1 5,541 Posted October 2, 2015 That was totally not fair to Tai. I really like how he has gotten better each year. Quote Share this comment
Report reply AuroranHusker 8,111 Posted October 2, 2015 That was totally not fair to Tai. I really like how he has gotten better each year. i appreciated the enthusiasm, but it did cast a 'savior' type of expectation on a kid who's 7,000 miles from his home at the age of 17. Yeah, I'd say that weight is a little tough to bear, even if you are the second coming! Tai has improved defensively immeasurably, now he needs to become more consistent offensively & I think he can. He's also going to be looked to for more of a leadership role on the squad, and I believe he'll be able to fill that role well. Report reply 49r 10,495 Posted October 2, 2015 Hammond spent some time in the rivals 150 but he was not there in the final rankings his year. Therefore, I did not include him. I wonder how McVeigh would have rated if he was a stateside kid. Maybe close to the 150-ish range??? Report reply Hooper 344 Posted October 2, 2015 Agree on McVeigh being a top-150 U.S. recruit if he played here. His basketball IQ and passing skills are truly outstanding. He may be the most underrated player we signed this year (though Michael Jacobson has also impressed me). Jack was a steal as far as I'm concerned. hhcmatt, Silverbacked1 and Norm Peterson 3 Quote Share this comment

Truly feel McVeigh would've been around 80-90 had he been in the U.S. Maybe a smidge in either direction depending upon who saw him but feel his film is roughly in that range of comparables. At this point he very well be and hopefully he will be overall. Remember when Shavon came in his freshman year and hit 35.9% of his 3 pointers on 39 attempts with the smooth looking stroke that failed him so many times this last year? We can only hope that the addition of bulk + beating beat on by B1G players doesn't result in Horne becoming a guy who used to have a pretty good looking shooting form. Somehow that reminded me of Chris Farley's interview of Paul McCartney on SNL. Would be a good link for the technologically enlightened. hhcmatt 1 Quote Share this comment
