The Polish Rifle Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 why are we the only team in college basketball that cant get calls at home. I had to watch Kentucky shoot 46 fts at home last night to Illinois State's 10. Whenever Creighton is at the clink they shot 10 fts within the first 5 minutes of the game (which will happen against us in about a week). But we have a home game against at decent team and they get to the line 16 more times than us? I had to get that out, I can sleep better now. Thanks Husker Hoops Central for the venting platform. colhusker Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 That is where the game was lost tonight. Not saying the fouls were bad calls, but when the road team shoots twice as many foul shoots it is a head scratcher. Quote
jayschool Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 And they made 82 percent of those free throws, better than their 76 percent average on the season to date. Quote
dskurz Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 I thought it was a well officiated game. Not as many tickey tack calls. Granted there were some calls I wish we got, but not all calls are going to be called. Foul calls were even until the end, the difference was we fouled on their shots. They fouled us on the floor. brfrad Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 I thought Shields got hit quite a bit down low. I think he should have got more free throws, probably 5 to 6 more. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 In the post game presser Tim said that he kept getting kicked. Quote
hhcmatt Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 With the exception of Shields, we weren't aggressive at all in the first half. They had some flops and some BS they got away with....that pump fake that Rodriquez tried near the end of regulation where we didn't bite and he didn't get called for a travel...did he leave the floor? I couldn't tell for sure. Quote
PimpMario Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 Miami is a well seasoned team. I s honestly impressed how well they played post defense without fouling. But yes the discrepancy is frustrating. Miles needs to coach these guys on getting to the line. He says that is a point of emphasis. Quote

Huskerpapa Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 I actually thought that the game was pretty well officiated last night. Of course I believe we should have gotten more favorable calls, but hey, that is my bias. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
Neebrasketball Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 The missed travel call was a huge missed call and an important point in the game. I can't remember the score, but I do know they scored on that possession. It happened in front of me and we noticed it when it happened. They showed the replay and he clearly drug his foot. We had our chances to win the game though and didn't. Quote
BBFan Posted December 2, 2015 Report Posted December 2, 2015 As I watched I did not think the officiating was bad or unbalanced. Shields was great but often dribbled into the middle of four defenders. I thought they did a good job of surrounding him without hacking. He may have been getting kicked but I did not notice it on tv. Quote

I know I have a buddy that officiates and he has told me even at the high school level and small college level that unless it is really blatant he will not call traveling. Said coaches have made it clear those that do will not get hired to work games. Quote

trickey Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 John Higgins is the absolute worst. Are you sure? Absolutely agree with this. Furthermore, Higgins is actually one of my favorite refs; and I don't know him, although we live in the same small community. He was not the one making/not making the calls you are complaining about...but he was on the floor. Quote
big red22 Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 John Higgins is the absolute worst. Are you sure? Not sure of the name of the the guy on the bottom, but he is hands down the worst ref I have ever witnessed and it seems we get him in all the games that matter Edit: Nevermind it is Jim Burr and thank God he retired Quote
