Well, Congrats to David Rivers on his 1st career double-double. Super Dave had 10 points & 11 boards.

Tarin Smith seemed to compete well against a ball-hawk like Shannon Scott as well as an NBA lottery pick DeAngelo Russell; Tai Webster near the end did a couple nice things against the scrubs (whatever that is -- at OSU?!?).

All in all, Bucks chucked NU out the way. Two more games til Chicago!

Playing Ohio St tonight brought up bad memories.

Last year, it seemed like we managed to turn the light switch on the program after being dead for 16 years after the Penn St game. Then - inexplicably - the light switch went off last March against OSU at the 15 minute mark of the 2nd half.

It's been off ever since.

That Big Ten tourney collapse was near catastrophic.

Affected us mentally and I'm still not sure it's completely healed...

I'll go positive, what the heck.  David Rivers' resilience is amazing.  So many times the past 2 years I have given up on his career, and then he comes back with some great games.  As Miles said in his postgame show, David always comes back strong after serving as an assistant coach for awhile.  :)   Also, it was good to see Tarin make some shots.

OK, back to the misery.  ;)

Can't be a good sign for Hammond.  If he isn't a better option than Moses or Leslee at this point, then I'm not so sure he wasn't a "miss" by the coaching staff.  I'm not writing the guy off, he could still improve tremendously....but wow, Leslee tries hard but at 6'8" with no knees and a 4" vertical, he's hardly a threat...and Moses.....oh, Moses.

Fuller look good his four minutes or so, lots of energy then benched until minute something left.

Not if you watched his defense.  Lost his guy, gave up a 3.  That's why he was benched.   He's far form the only guy that did that, but he did do it.   Also, with Rivers playing so well, it was hard to get him minutes.

This x100.  Sadly that was the last time we were playing NCAA tournament caliber basketball. Really thought that was the turning point for our program.

Smitty had a career high 13 tonight, too. We've been looking for complimentary players all season, but we need them to step up AND have TP and Shields be on their games. That's what good teams do. That's what we did when we got rolling last year. Haven't had it all year, can't be either TP/SS or Role Players.

Exactly. TP and SS look wore down. Not having the role players step up for much of the year appears to be taking a toll on them mentally and physically.

We played spurts of good ball.  But the spurts were like an old mans flow.

Thaaaat said...an ugly game to watch once again.  It is what it is.  I didn't even get mad...much more sad than mad.

Unfortunately, I can relate.

Main positive last night was Tarin.  He has never been afraid on the court but he squared off against a top 5 draft pick last night and more than held his own.  It hasn't always gone in this year and he has struggled some from the line but he has a nice looking jumper that in time could be a major scoring threat for us.

OK, how about this for positive:  We have two games left in regular season play and our toughest remaining opponent we get to play at HOME!!!!

Congrats to all who watched or listened to the game last night-you are all better fans than I. I turned on ESPN once in the first half and we were already down by double digits. Opted for tape of Monday's Bachelor and never looked back. Perusing the threads and  the LJS this morning made me glad I chose to try the Fantasy Suite rather than pursue the fantasy hope of seeing a competitive game last night. Believe me when I say that I am here for all the right reasons but it is getting so hard for me now. Three more games to go and only two Walters left. What to do?

The Bachelor? Really? Yikes.

My wife's sister just sent her the boxed set for the entire 5th season of Downton Abbey.   Last night, after the game, she had me join her in a Downton Abbey marathon.  I must say, after 4 episodes of Downton, the Husker game didn't seem so bad after all.
