- That was a lot more closer to what we expected to see from this team all year. Too bad we had to wait until Mid February to see it.

- Walter shouldn't start again this year.

- Fuller played a lot. He wasn't great defensively, but he wasn't a liability for the most part.

- Tai's taking a lot of heat today. But I agree with this more.

I'm not giving up on Tai yet.

- Shields had a really nice stretch and got to the rim at will in the second half. They suddenly, they stopped driving. I think it might have cost them the game.

- Wonder how much of Moses we'll see the rest of the year.

- If they play like this the rest of the year, they won't miss the postseason.

- Didn't think Tarin had a great game tonight.

- Melo Trimble is the truth. Dude can play.

 

All said and done, I thought NU played really well tonight, hopefully they can put something together the last few games. I think they'll win on Sunday. Gotta find a way to beat OSU or Illinois.

I like how the offense looked tonight. Aggressive early offense, nice set plays and made 3-pointers. Too bad Trimble played like the NBA player he is.

We have to take advantage of defenses not being set because we struggle so much in the half court.

That chokehold on Fuller courtesy of #10 was pretty damn malicious. I think you could argue NU didn't deserve more free throws in some of the recent games, but 25-7 in tonights game is a bunch of crap.

 

If we can see this team the rest of the year, we might have a nice little run.

The technical and Terran's fourth foul were head scratchers.

It's pretty apparent we go as Pitch goes. When he is knocking down shots we are a different team. We need 2014 Pitch down the stretch and next year more than ever.

Anyways Turgeon is doing a great job at Maryland.

Lots of good tonight:

 

10 offensive rebounds for us.  1 for Maryland.

 

Shot 44 % from the floor.  Shot 53 % from guys other than Petteway.

 

Petteway had 9 assists to only 2 turnovers despite a poor shooting night.

 

Scored 65 points.  Our 2nd best total on the road this season.  Although, I'm not sold on Maryland's defense.

 

Some bad tonight:

 

We lost.

 

Maryland shot 45 % from the floor.

Loving Rivers like last year. Difference was last year he deserved it . No production this year. Flatlined tonight. 5 minutes, zeroes across the board on the stat sheet.

This is the best game we have played in weeks.  I will say the same thing here as I said in the game thread, this came down to two key things...the number of their foul shots made and their freshman PG; he was a stud.

Any other day, I'd say it's the number of fouls given up to lead to those free throws, but from the sounds of it, Maryland has found a way to get to the line a lot this season (being #2 in the nation for made free throws and all). Hopefully we can get better on that part of the game; that's an area we've been lacking this year.

The foul call disparity is very Penn State-like for Nebrasketball. Why would that be with a newcomer??? Seriously, Nebraska hardly ever received a call for being fouled when driving to the hoop. Weird, and bombastic. Maryland got a lot of creampuff calls. Heck, even a chokehold by a Terp went uncalled DIRECTLY in front of the 'Boom' ref Tom Eades, the biggest POS around. Good grief!
