bkamler Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 When your star goes 5-18 including 1 for 7 from three. Especially when according to the announcer he's playing out of control as evidenced by 8 turnovers. Then throw in whoever is disguised as Pitchford that played a lot of minutes without making a basket and only got 3 boards. We got out rebounded by 19 with 16 on of them being offensive boards! If we had played a good team we would have been blown out by 30. But its one game and I had it marked down as a loss in my win/loss projections but I am sorry I was right. Meanwhile Creighton knocks off the rated Sooners and UN-omaha knocks off Marquette. Two teams in Nebraska are playing well but Tim will get to work on it and he certainly has their attention now! cipsucks Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Is this thread necessary? I think it's just one more reason why Pelini needs to go.  49r, a0t0w0, Ron Mexico and 6 others 9 Quote
Sgt Lincoln Osiris Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I'm actually more confident about Tuesday with today's results. 3-0 Nebraska might have overlooked the next opponent. No excuses now. We might lose our top 25 ranking for now but I've lost no confidence for this year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk AuroranHusker 1 Quote
Dean Smith Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Is this thread necessary? Technically there is no such thing as a necessary thread. This is a sports board, nothing here is necessary. People post here for entertainment or lots of other reasons (there's a thread for that). I'm not sure what point you were trying to make? Chuck Taylor Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Â Is this thread necessary? Technically there is no such thing as a necessary thread. Ouch. We're trying to escape reality here, imagine that our opinions actually matter! Silverbacked1 1 Quote
hhcmatt Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 We used to have 4 topics like this after a loss..so it's progress? The "is this necessary" question probably refers to us having a post game thread that this post could have gone into Quote
jimmykc Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I have no problem with this since it seems to be a good place to vent and throw in a lot of random crap for those fans in Nebraska who feel somewhat depressed this fine morning. so here goes.. Quote
jimmykc Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I hope we don't end up getting knocked off by some college I never heard of like the other NU having a very hard time with Eelon. It is significant that Incarnate Word beat Princeton in N.J. last night. Quote
jimmykc Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I predict little Rhoady will end up a bubble team by the end of the year and this road loss early in the year will turn out to be a good thing. AuroranHusker and Silverbacked1 2 Quote

Husker4Life Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 This will probably seem too harsh for the kool-aid drinkers on this board but I have to get this off of my chest.  When the 6'10' forward and the 6'4" starting point guard combine for 1 field goal and the 6'9" center scores 1 point you are in big trouble.  The only good thing, and I am not sure that is true, is Petteway WILL be back next year.  He had enough turn overs to feed the entire town of Lincoln.  He is not pro material, at least not now.  We also obviously have no depth as well.  Fuller and Hammond remained on the bench through out this fiasco.  Those of you that predicted a blow out over Creighton better beware of not only Creighton by UNO.  If we play no better than last night, we will lose both.  This team right now reminds me of another team that played yesterday morning.  We ha.no one in charge.  I consider Rhode Island at best a  mediocre team in their league and yet we got embarrassed by them.  I hope we have a 180 degree turnabout.  I just see so many  deficiencies it is hard to imagine what will happen when we play someone good. jimmykc Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Yet another positive from yesterday: Bo used "horrendous" twice in his post game presser instead of the f-bomb. Quote
huskerbaseball13 Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I don't think RI will prove to be a bad loss. But it's that we had every chance to win yet player very poor. And after watching the first 4 games I think there is some cause for concern. We are not a good enough shooting team to get killed on the boards like we have this year. Time for Pitch to wake up as he's badly needed. Quote

Time for Pitch to wake up as he's badly needed. Rhode Island has decent teams from time to time. Not shocked by this loss. One thing about the loss, it gets our attention before we play UN-O. Much sooner loose to Rhode on the road, rather than UN-O at home. We could smoke Creighton if we have it together. Probably a close game, glad we are playing here. hal9000 Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 I don't see us losing to UNO and Creighton at Pinnacle Bank, no matter how bad we played yesterday. Quote
Silverbacked1 Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 This game reminds me of the Penn. State game last year. I really do think this will be the slap in the face we need, and it is a loooooooooooooooooong season. I know if we don't play better it will be longer, but at least our D showed up last night. Quote
colhusker Posted November 23, 2014 Report Posted November 23, 2014 Not sure you can sugar coat a game like yesterday as a good loss, if there is such a thing. Nice thing about basketball is that a bad loss doesn't ruin the season. We have a lot of basketball to play. Silverbacked1 1 Quote
