Not trying to be a 'fly in the ointment' here but please allow me to play 'Devil's Advocate' for a moment.  It would seem to me that if any recruit doubts their ability to compete for playing time, maybe they are not the right fit for us.

If anything, our recent successes (not just the palpable improvement over the last 4 games, but the incoming talent scheduled next year) should enhance the reputation of Nebraska as a desirable place to come if you want to play high-level basketball in any recruits eyes.  We do have the minutes to give, and it IS a Great Place to play Basketball (just ask Frank Kaminsky).

I think if miles had a "big" he would play morrow abs Jacobson at the 4 more. He would be able to play 2 "bigs" at one time and be able to play match ups better, hence aw3 vs msu. It'd give him so many more options to have a "big" and replace it with someone who can't crack rotation. Vacant ship would work as well.

Besides, Shavon will be gone after this year, and Jacobson and Morrow seem like the front runners to replace him, leaving a spot still open in the middle.

I see Gill replacing Benny and McVeigh replacing Shields in he starting lineup.  Obviously minute distribution would vary I just see it playing out that way to start.

I agree on Gill.

The argument that had been made earlier, though, was that Jordy might look at our lineup and think we're basically set at the 5 with Jacobson there.  I don't think that's true at all.  Jacobson and Morrow are playing the 5 by default and are more naturally 4s.  If we had a legit 5 on the roster next year, Jacobson would probably battle Morrow, McVeigh and maybe Horne and Roby for time at the 4.  But none of those guys are 5s.  The roster is wide-open for playing time for a legit 5 to come in here and take it.

That was my point.

Hopefully, too late.

Only scary thing is one of their assistants has a huge connection to the prep schools in Massachusetts which is how they landed Kaleb tarczewski.  Hopefully our connection via Kenya is a better one.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out...

Yeah.  Do he and his brother truly not care about how big of a name a school has?  Just want on opportunity to contribute early?  If so, then count AZ out.  Because whatever they lack today, it'll be different next month or next summer or next fall.  Jordy should be just as concerned about what a program like Arizona might recruit after him as he would be concerned about who's already on their roster when he's considering if it's a place he'll be able to contribute at early in his career.

Just ask Akoy Agau about the ability of places like Arizona and Louisville to recruit for your spot in the recruiting cycle AFTER you commit there.

Looking at AZ roster, they need depth at the big man position after this year, as most of their minutes at the C spot graduate.  They have a freshman and sophmore who don't log a lot of minutes right now.  Hopefully Miles can sell him on UNL as being the right fit for him.

Arizona has a four star big (6'10", 210 lb.) signed for 2016. They signed a four-star center (6'10", 195 lb.) in 2015. Dusan Ristic (7', 255 lb.) will be a Junior center next year.

If we lose Jordy to AZ, can we at least have one of those guys in return?

We were actually Ristic's backup plan.  He had an offer to Arizona that was dependent on them having room for him, and he said Nebraska was the only other school he was considering.  You almost had your wish 2 years ago!

Slightly off-topic: remember Elbert Robinson III? He visited here before Shaq convinced him to sign with LSU? Well, Elbert's not getting a lot of playing time there.

As to Jordy, Pitt may be the real competition here. Pitt offers some opportunity for a big, with one exception: they will have a 6'11", 300 lb., center next year coming off a redshirt year--he'll be a junior, after playing his first two years at a Juco.

From recent comments by Shaq, it sounds like the bag man rumors might have had some basis in fact.
