Recruiting is a funny game.  I remember feeling quite let down when we didn't get the guy below and signed Leslee Smith instead.  Remember what a drawn out affair this was?  All I can say is, I'm thankful Leslee ended up in Lincoln!

Looks like Sai continues to struggle for playing time as well.

And of course the former Central Eagle is spending more time on the bench than off.

Being a first year player can be tough.  I wish these guys all the best when they aren't playing the Huskers.

Hey, anybody remember the name of that coach that everybody wanted 2 years ago? I think it was something like Grass or Gross, pretty sure it started with a "G". How's he doing wherever he's at?

Groce has certainly had a better two years than Miles?  What are you getting at?

As for the original post, if Agau were here he would be playing at least 20 minutes a game and probably more since he has pretty good endurance.  We need him.  We need strong forwards and big men.

Groce had a pretty darn good roster to take over in his first year and still went 8-10 in the B10.  I know he made the tourney, and I get that.  But his cupboard was FAR from empty when he arrived at Illinois.  He has now lost 7 straight games in the B10 this season.

With Agau I bet you would have said the same thing about Walt in his freshman year. IMO it seems like the same sort of deal.

I stop at Illinois boards and they still are complaining that Weber left a terrible roster with well below average talent for a B1G team. Groce has also done quite well in recruiting and with transfers.

I think we both will end up quite pleased with our hires.

Gross inherited a roster last season with four Rivals four-star players on his team.

This season, Gross has three freshman on his roster that were Rivals four-star players (Nunn, Colbert & Hill).

Would love to see what Tim Miles could do with a handful of Rivals four-star payers on his roster!

Illinois is, currently, hovering around the bottom of the league standings.

Makes me sad that we lost to Penn State and Purdue. 5-3 would be pretty amazing right now

At least they were on the road and we have a chance to play them both again at home.  The Michigan home loss also is one you'd like to have back.  5-4 would tie us for 4th in conference with Northwestern, right now.

Need to go on a run and beat some teams.  Beginning Wednesday night at Michigan.
