Chuck Taylor Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 (edited) The physical part is really hard to judge in the mixtape because he's playing against 8th graders (he's also one, of course). But the skills obviously translate to high school varsity level. Edited December 24, 2017 by Chuck Taylor Quote
imnothipp Posted December 24, 2017 Report Posted December 24, 2017 Talked to someone who was at the game and said he played like a senior. Hope he sticks around for 4 years, but with prep schools the way they are now, you just don't know. Quote
Cowboy Kermit Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) Big game in Class A Saturday night in Omaha, as #2 Omaha Central hosts #3 Creighton Prep. Prep is looking to avenge their lone loss of the year which came against Central in the Metro Conference Tournament Semi-Finals. Lots of fun players to watch in that game including Roman Behrens, Akol Arop, and Coach Kenya Hunter's son Jaylin who is now eligible and starting for the Junior Jays. Good rivalry game, should be a fun environment, that's where I'll be. Edited January 18, 2018 by NebrasketballJake hhcmatt and WestOHusker 1 1 Quote
Cowboy Kermit Posted January 21, 2018 Report Posted January 21, 2018 Big game for Kenya Hunter's son Jaylin tonight at Central as he had a career high 30 points. The gym was sold out, full, and very loud. Fun game to watch. Glynn, Palmer, and Thomas were in attendance supporting Jaylin. He ran over to them right as the game ended. Presumably, Kenya wants a parochial school education for his son, and Lincoln Pius and Wahoo Neumann don’t provide the level of competition and supporting cast that he wants. Quote

It is beyond a parochial education. Creighton Prep is a Jesuit school, one of only fifty or sixty in the US. Some can look at that negatively, others positively. But it is unique and not for everyone. I believe Coach Hunter went to Duquesne University which was founded by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit and is the only Spiritan institution of higher education in the United States. Quote
huskas4real Posted February 2, 2018 Report Posted February 2, 2018 Tim Miles in attendance at Lincoln SW tonight. Presumably watching the Chucky Hepburn kid from Bell West. hhcmatt 1 Quote
HB Posted February 3, 2018 Report Posted February 3, 2018 Took in the Lincoln East-Omaha Burke game last night. Watched Shereef Mitchell of Burke. Really good player. Quick. Good court vision while facing some junk defense. Soft touch on free throws (6-6). However, I didn't see a Power 5 body. Not sure he would be able to handle the physicality at that level. Didn't appear to have the body type to put on weight or get much bigger. Just an amateur analysis. Palmer, Allen, and Atenken strolled in during the second quarter and watched the rest of the game. I'm aware of that. Don't think those schools are any more or less difficult to get into than NU. If he's gonna be eligible, NU should be in on that conversation. Quote
AuroranHusker Posted March 6, 2018 Report Posted March 6, 2018 I think it would be a good idea to have Wingett back for an NU official. Quote
