This works out perfectly from an RPI perspective. Even though this is a tourney, the game against Hawaii counts as a road game for RPI purposes (meaning a road win actually counts as 1.4 wins).

And presuming Nebraska wins in Round 1, they get a nice RPI boost by playing Wichita St. in round 2 (WSU should have a very good record again this year). And then regardless of whether Nebraska wins or loses in round 2, they probably end up playing one of the two good teams (GW or Colorado) from the other side in the 3rd place game. All in all, can't ask for a much better draw in terms of RPI.

I'm surprised they have us playing Hawaii first round. We have to be one of the better teams in the tournament and you would think they would want the host team to advance. Not saying they can't beat us but there are other teams that seem to be a better draw for Hawaii.

According to an article on LJS, the regular season home opener will be on November 15 (Saturday) or 16 (Sunday). We play Central Arkansas on the 18th, so I think the game will be on the 15th. Husker football plays at Wisconsin on the 15th, likely at either 11:00 AM or 2:30 PM. So the opener should be a night game. I could see the opener on the 14th as well.
