Yeah. He might have just gotten caught up in the moment while on his visit.

Robin Washut thinks he will still take his visit to Nebraska.

That means that the staff needs to make sure it's for a big game, so the atmosphere is electric.

Rutgers played UNCG this weekend. I can't imagine that crowd was very impressive.

I would think that the atmosphere at Pinnacle Bank Arena for the games vs Michigan, Ohio St, Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, and Wisconsin would all be more impressive than Rutgers vs UNCG...

I think you misread Robin.  He doesn't believe he will still visit Nebraska.  Hopefully Kenya can talk him into it....

Isn't going to Rutgers, robin is trying to find out why now but I would LOVE this kid to follow Kenya & come here. He would be immedietly eligible and have 2 years remaining. Some will say we need class balance and adding another junior hurts that but I say when fighting to get into the dance, take the best players you can get

IDK..  With the way the current guys are coming together, I actually might prefer we just grab Dickerson and Deng and call it good (if we're even fortunate enough to get both of them).  There are clearly some red flags with Whittington.

Me neither.  I think the last I heard (few weeks ago) was that we were going to try to set up an OV sometime in February (might be confusing him w/ Dickerson there).

Early reports made it sound like he was ours if we wanted him.  Not sure what the hold up has been.

The latest on Deng was from January 17th. It was our first bye week of B1G play. Was that the week following the first Ohio State matchup? Anyway, Miles went down to Texas that week to watch Deng play. At that time it was reported that Deng was possibly down to Baylor and Nebraska as a final 2 and they were trying to line up an official sometime in February.

Here is a news article on the subject from a few hours ago:

Greg Whittington, whose decision last month to transfer from Georgetown to Rutgers was hailed as a key addition for the Scarlet Knights’ inaugural Big Ten campaign, is not joining the men’s basketball program this semester as planned — and his future prospects with the team are in doubt.

Grades are the issue for the 6-foot-8 forward. Georgetown placed Whittington on academic suspension midway through his sophomore season before dismissing him from the team this past November.

Asked by phone Friday afternoon whether he would make another attempt to enroll at Rutgers in the fall, Whittington said, “I don’t know yet.” Asked when he would decide, Whittington said, “I don’t know that either.”

Whittington averaged 12.1 points and 7.0 rebounds in 13 games as a Hoyas sophomore last season and projected as a starter for Rutgers. The Maryland native, who was the Washington Post’s All-Met Player of the Year in 2011, underwent surgery for a torn ACL in July. He has either one-and-a-half or two seasons of eligibility remaining.

We are finalists for Deng & Dickerson. No clue on interest level between us and Whittington or his academic situation. Regardless, no, I'm not smoking week. Am I using a message board to express optimism? Yes I am. Is that allowed?
