They should've put Sergej on the bottom side of the slope. Fuller looks the same height as Smith but he's up slope from Smith. I still think Smith is a legit 6-8.

You know what I like about these pictures? The impression is that these are good kids who get along well and are happy to be at Nebraska. No glaring, stare down bad a$$ personas.

Well, remember, everyone in that pic is 6' 5" or taller and he's clearly taller than Hawkins and you can tell he's a smidge taller than Fuller.  Remember, Serj is 7' 1"...

 

The slope in that pic isn't left to right, it's up and down, it's coming at the photographer.  You put him next to me, he'll look plenty tall.

After looking a little closer you can also see he's standing further back (everyone is turning back to look at him) and Serj is in front.  I believe the 6'8 measurement.

Looks like Smith has sandals on as well.  Might make a small difference.

They are guards, so it's only natural they'd be doing a lot more ball handling than the other guys.  :shrug:

A couple of years back on one of the husker football posters a bunch of the players were throwing very suttle gang signs.

UNL didn't know about until later when they were recruiting a kid who was crip said he would/couldn't go because Nebraska was a blood school.

Same year that in the media guide a Chicago player was flashing Latin king gang signs in a photo

Ya they pulled back the posters that year and issued "read to win" posters.

I know Danny's last year some of the basketball players flashed what they said was a "west coast" hand signal that was on the poster and media guide.   There was hub-bub about that and those were pulled off the shelf.

This was back during the glory years back in the early and mid 90's.

 

The poster had a picture of the players and soem of the guys where holding their helmets by the face mask.  The way they were holding it was a blood sign.

 

I got all the information when I went to a gang training for school teachers a few years back.  Very interesting stuff.

 

I'll see if I can find a picture.

It was 'round about the time Abdul Mohammad was on the team, I believe.
